Goddam hippies :p!
I bought the book when i did a "restart as a Dj" few months ago. It was (and still is) a very good tool for adapting the transition from analog to digital dj'ing. Especially the more complicated mappings and funktions are explained very well and also after reading You can understand how (and why) sokme things are done like they are. BUT. It's in no way any guide to mix. Sure, there are some tips to it but in general, no shortcuts to "better mixing" in my opinion.
Buy it, it's good, it's cheap. Great value for money.
The Traktor Bible is a great resource. Get it, whether you take classes later or not. It can only help.
