there used to be a thing called a switchbox, not sure if they still make them anymore cause i haven't seen one around in a while. it was basically used for exactly what your talking about just changing DJ's over from serato to traktor instantly. we used it a couple of times in some of the clubs i worked and it works pretty nice. and im sure if they're discontinued now you could find one for real cheap

Going to look around on price, for under $200 it's definitely worth to me.
It would be great if you were using a battle mixer with only two inputs, but even most 2 channel mixers have at least 4 switchable inputs these days. Is there really any benefit to using this $200 box over simple wire splitters?
the difference we found was that the sound quality was much much better on a grand scale. i doubt you could tell the difference between the box and wire splitters with just like a normal PA setup. However, the place we were playing held roughly 8000 people and probably had 10-15 flyable speakers and 4-6 subs running on a given night so when you blew the sound up the difference was definitely noticeable

The splitters are used for timecode input, not sound output. Are you saying that when using timecode there are minute differences in quality depending on whether you use splitters or not?
Doesn't timecode just work properly or not at all?
youre using DVS yeah? How about stick on a couple of records while you change over? Youre using turntables anyway, so I assume you and the other dj's can beatmatch manually when necessary. Its also a damn sight cheaper than a switchbox.

Looks like you got it figured out but we have done this in the past by having the outs of one box go to the ins of the other and you just leave the one not in use in direct through mode. Something like this:

.............[SL3].....[AUDIO6].....[MIXER]----|<..-|-..<-(dancing sexy female)
[1200]=//.....\\=//............\\=//..............[<...^
note: Periods (.) are space makers since I spent way to much time on that for it to not recognizes actual spaces. These //=\\ are RCAs.
Have either the SL3 or Audio6 in direct through mode and the correct timecodes on the TTs and you are good to go. Obviously you can make switch one channel and record over at a time in order to mix into each other.
