You still need to switch from Scratch to Internal Playback and back again every time you do this, which you obviously cant afford to do if you're using the platter.

I dont see why not. Its obviously not a technique that is going to be used much during heavy scratching/juggling. You can assign a midi button right next to your midi fader to do so so you can switch back and forth easily.
And you don thave to turn off scratch control for this to be achieved.
My tempo fader is greyed out in scratch mode and can't be moved, how did you manage it?
hit the play button , adjust tempo, hit relative button, use turntable.
