If you are mixing digitally remember to let the tracks breath a bit, you don't need to get straight into mixing a new track in which can be easy when you have the bpm info and auto cue points it can start to sound a bit busy. I usually mix after the main break of a track although there are always exceptions.
Sometimes it can work to blend track 2 in the break down of track 1. Start track 2 8 or 16 bars bars before the break and you can match the build up of track 1 with the end of the intro of track 2.
Another style that can sound good with long mixes is high pass filtering both tracks during the transition. When track 2 is at 100% bring track 1 to about 80% on the fader and drop the filter from 2 which will bring in its bass line over the top of track 1. You can then blend track 1 out gradually or keep teasing it by bringing it in and out of the mix.
