I think you have to make sure you get the one with no addittives. But no, it's supposed to be a super clean way to do records. The wood and the record are close molecular cousins so it allows the wood glue to get in all the cracks and crevases but never making a full bond.
Good all 99 cent store brand that literally said "No additives" on the label. It worked, but took an entire bottle to do one side.
