to mp3 or not to mp3 (use wav instead). that is the question!
-
I can't for the life of me tell the difference between wav and 320 on my KRK v8's in a room with basic acoustic conditioning. This may be due partially to nearly 20 years of clubbing often without ear plugs. BUT - I can tell the difference between virgin vinyl and wav or 320. I think vinyl mastering is just different. It may also be the fact that you can hear the actual acoustic sound of the needle on the record in a small room.

Most of what is being argued here is subjective - does it sound different to me?
The only fact is that wav's are better quality - so if you can afford them, get em :)

We should always try to push the sound quality to the better. 320 mp3:s are ok, but if we improve our output as much as we can, with wave:s, better sound card, cables and the sound guy puts better mixer, amp, eq, speaker etc it will be a big different at the end.
Sometimes you cant get the music you want in the quality we want or the hard drive is to small. But we should always try to push push push to better sound.
