Jimmy Cliff-I'm a big reggae fan and the amount of times i've just sat and got stoned to the Harder They Come soundtrack is incredible, the mans voice is just unbelievable, a real inspiration for me, because i aspire to produce something as timeless as his music.
Rolling Stones-I grew up listening to them, my dad is a big fan and the first record i ever played on 12"(on my dads TT when i was 6) was an original Aftermath with the Decca Label
Rory Gallagher- I play the guitar and used to work in a guitar shop for strings and accessories, i trained myself as a blues musician and, being from ireland, Gallagher was always a big influence on me. i dont play as much now as I should but Gallagher still inspires me.
Stevie Ray Vaughan-Same as above, loved Vaughan since i started playing the guitar, can play Scuttle buttin' note for note ;)
Fresh Prince-Used to watch the show as a kid, and loved the rap music but never was allowed to listen to biggie or any of the newer stuff that was hitting it big when i was around 11(50 cent etc) so the fresh prince, although before my time, was a big love of mine. Big willy style is one of my favorite albums :)
Blondie-Mum was a big fan, the first REAL dance song i heard was the Tall Paul remix of Atomic

Pearl Jam-was never a big fan until i saw them live last year, they really showed me how to get a crowd going and how to put on a PROPER show. 3 hour long set, 45 minute long encore, 30 minutes past their curfew. didnt matter to them. best gig i've ever been to, and even out-does my first time as a Gurner.
My Chemical Romance-When i was 12 i started to get into metal and rock, and Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge had just came out, massive massive band for me when i was younger, and still are. I used to get a lot of slagging for being emo, and My Chemical Romance kinda got me through it. I was being bullied badly and was suicidal, self harming etc, but when i listened to their songs i felt like i wasnt alone, there were other people felt my pain and understood me. to be honest the reason i'm still here.
Iron Maiden-my introduction to metal, a massive band for me around the time of MCR as well, because they opened my eyes to the world outside 'popular' music, and really inspired me to 'crate dig' and look for new music that was like nothing i'd ever heard before.

David Axelrod - I didn't really know about him until a couple of years ago but then I found out that he has had a hand in so many great records, either through his production or from being sampled.
Yoko Kanno - A pianist/composer who has made many an anime soundtrack and seems to be able to make any style of music (everything from, pop, enka, blues and rock to jazz, funk, gospel and classical) brilliantly. Plus it's not every composer who gets remixed by the ninja tune label and some very select friends :)
