yep it doesnt really work, 1 out of 10 tries it does recognize the unit but got error when trying to change the midi channel.

If you both have access to a PC, you can also use MIDIOX to send the SYSEX message to change the MIDI channel. The correct message to send to the MM-1 to set it to MIDI channel 5 (the default MIDI channel) is...
F0 7F 00 03 04 F7
Not sure what's going on that the helper app doesn't work on your machines. It's a little nothing program that just sends and receives MIDI.
I can confirm that channel changer app on my PC indeed crashes at the end of the process but also do change default midi channels for CMD.
@trz303 - Did you ensure to turn some nobs and send midi to the app?
Next window should then pop-up and give you options for setting a new channel.

I want to try playing with the new Serato DJ 1.6 software but can't find any MIDI mappings for my CMD PL-1's.
Anyone know where to look?
There aren't any "official" CMD mappings for Serato software, but you might find some user mappings on the forums.
I just bought a pl1 and qhickly returned it after unboxing...
Because they don't have a Serato preset?
because its too plastic. spoiled by my contours I guess.
It's pretty clear in every review I've ever seen for the CMD controllers done over the last 2 years that their cases were plastic (just like NI and a ton of other manufacturer's products). Did you not read any of that information before purchasing?Quote:
