Also worth remembering is that some DI boxes will convert the unbalanced line-level signal into a balanced mic-level signal, which may not be suitable for your specific application. This won't balance your outputs though, you'll need a DI box for that. If the amp is under the booth, it probably won't be a problem using those adapters, although you may have to increase the gain on the amp. If it's upstairs in the office, you'll want to get a DI box to avoid interference with the long cable runs.Quote:

So after reading this whole thread this is my conclusion. Z1 is dope if you're running TDJ or wanna make your 2deck modular midi setup more compact. But I feel like everyone has forgotten about the DJM900NXS in all of this talk. Its traktor certified, so bam you can do your internal mixing if you wanted to go that route. Its fully midi mappable so it can be used for way more purposes a la datsik and deadmou5 in ableton. You can go dvs or full cdj setup or modular also. Has built in top shelf sound card. Yeah I dig it, its expensive blah blah blah, but with dj gear anyone will tell you the same you pay for what you get. My set up currently makes use of a djx700... oh how I hate the thi g and relish when I can use a clubs djm. But once again that's just my take. I use 4 channels so I can't find a use for it. And if you use for channels and use a macbook your fucked cuz of the limited usb ports. But yeah you can by a hub and get two of em and have cables all over the place and have a drunk bitch rip out your shit at anytime cuz its "ideal for house parties" or whatever... but if your a noob looking to pick up mixing as a hobbie fuck it put your 200 duckets down and see if you wanna persue this further. Yeahh that was a long response hahaha
This is all good and all, but unless your big enough to demand what gear will be at the venue, your going to have to lug your own with you. Most places are still rocking the DJM800, around here anyways, unless it's a big show and they are bring out the good stuff for the big act and your lucky enough to be able to use it. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to walk around a club/bar/rave with $1,800 mixer in my hands / bag.Quote:
