Greetings to all,

My name is Xavier, you can call me X all my friends do. I'm originally from NJ but Tampa FL, is home and has been since 1989. I'm currently serving the military in Afghanistan. I am a HUGE fan the DJ culture and have been ever since 1987. In fact ever since I heard DJ Pete Rock, Todd Terry and Louis Vega on the NY radio in the late 80's I've been a fan. I listen to mostly old school golden era hip hop and House Music. I've loved both genres ever since I first heard Big Daddy Kane and Jefferson Marshall bump through my speakers, and when ever I get a chance to get my hands on a Mix CD of either genre, I don't waste the opportunity. Hip Hop and EDM, I believe, are not and were never meant to be heard with a 2 sec pause song after song.

I joined this site to get some education and tips on DJing. I've been looking at your threads and Blogs when I get a chance and they've really helped a lot. I've been having the itch for a couple of years now and decided to grow a pair and take the plunge. Right now the only equipment I have, if you want to call it that, is the TraktorDJ app and its F'n DOPE SUN!! Don't know if I should just get a controller for it or go for the gusto and get S4? I heard SERATO DJ is bad ass also. Any suggestions? I'll be coming back to the state w/some chedder to spend so we'll see, I'll have to ask the wife firs:001_unsure:.
