Looks like i will be going to Ikea this weekend WITHOUT the wife :D
Hi Guys,
I was a bit sick of using my old office desk with a box on it for my Bedroom DJ Set up and so was searching online for some inspiration (IKEA, Office World, HomeBase, Argos)
I thought I would share what I found was a cheap and cheerful way to get what I think looks pretty decent for a put together in an hour job!
I Used a plain black Vika Table top (£15 as I chose different legs) http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S19903725/
The legs were called Vika KAG LEG and were £10 each and they extend to up to about 90cm off the ground which is perfect for me (I am 6ft2)
For a second shelf for my monitors and my laptop I got these: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20049538/
I affixed them to the bottom of a perfectly sized shelf I found in the bargain clearance called EKBY JARPEN in the same colour: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S29885453/
You can also get some stands that lean back to give you a bit more space: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40051196/
The stands which are actually feet for a kitchen unit fit perfectly with no need for drilling.
So my shopping list was this...
VIKA AMON TBL x1 = £15
VIKA KAJ LEG AD x4 = £10 each
EKBY JARPEN x1 = £5 in bargain bit
CAPITA LEG (Size 21") one pack = £11
Total = £71
End Result is the below. Only took me an hour to get it set up! Hope this helps someone save some time from what I learnt.
If the below doesn't work I tweeted it earlier today https://twitter.com/jimmyburge/statu...571584/photo/1

Nice work, 0Notice.
Few more work days and I'm finished with my table.
Suprisingly it turns out that I'm handling the woodworking stuff pretty good and I can't wait to share the results.
It really is something like Ikea Expedit Deluxe Edition. Haven't had so much fun for a while at DIYing.
Also, has anyone seen something like RCA female-to-female wall plate?

Something like this, but with female on both sides.
Latest photo of all my equipment.. Just finished making the shelving unit to hold the CDJ's/RMX.. Finally my TT's are closer to me again!
Sorry for crap quality (iPhone 5 then resized with Photobucket).
