Does the Rekordbox aspect of the CDJ2k interest you at all? You mentioned you like to beatmatch, but it seems you're leaning towards a DVS setup. Despite the sometimes buggy Rekordbox software, I love, love, love the idea. No CDs to scratch/destroy, just a jump drive (or your laptop hooked straight to the CDJs, a la Kaskade).
IMO, if you like to beatmatch by ear (as opposed to "beat-seeing by eye" which is what you do in SSL/TSP, depending on how you layout your laptop screen), a straight CDJ setup with Rekordbox or CDs (maybe not CDs, noting your aforementioned CD-scratching ability) might be of interest?
I only bring this up because this was my progression: Itch, TSP, SSL, and now straight CDJ2ks with Rekordbox. I spin 97.5% EDM with a bit of hiphop/reggae/whatever thrown in, so I can testify to the true versatility of the CDJs. They might not be as flexible when it comes to the circus tricks you can pull off with a NI S4, but mannnnnnn, are they fun. :)
To each their own and definitely do what ya like, but there's my humble take on it. Best of luck.

If you can get a pretty fair deal on a pair of any Technics, use them for awhile and see if you like it. If it's not for you, I doubt you would lose much or anything in resale.

Denon SC-3900. And I love tables - but, if you don't get what DVS is about, and, you are even remotely inclined to CDJ, the platters on the 3900 are every bit as accurate and responsive as actual vinyl, and require "no care and feeding." If you ever have to haul your own gear... multiply this recommendation by 100.

I've used the 3900s and I don't really have a bad word to say about them. Awesome vinyl emulation, adjustable torque, etc. Good suggestion. Personally I prefer 2000s for the massive screen and I prefer the feel of the buttons, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the denons.

I hear ya. We all "like" 2000's, but are the buttons and screen worth 2.5x the money of a 3900? Especially if integrating with Traktor? Forgot to mention that ENGINE software on iPAD is also remarkable, if not quite ready.
