I considered getting the RMX, but after playing on it and the VCI-100 I decided to get the VCI and a cheep sound card (dj i/o). I wanted to get both new after having a bad experience on ebay recently, and ended up getting both for less then $400 new on amazon. Granted I already have access to monitors and speakers, but for a beginner set up, and a controller that is known to be very good (and has a huge following on DJTT keeping it up to date) I dont think you can go wrong here. Add in the new firmware and buy an overlay and you have yourself a very good controller.
however, in the end I do agree with dripstep, and second his saying that the most important thing is a controller you feel comfortable on. Personally I love my VCI-100, and have loved my (albeit few) days on it.
Razor I'd advise not to buy dj gear through JB they have very limited range. If your anywhere near a capital city you should check out one of the dj stores there. Much better advise and you can generally talk up some sort of deal.
I do think that your best bet starting out would be one of the many all in ones though, just which one depends on what ever you feel most comfortable with. If it's just for home and mates party's then not much else matters.
