And it's not like he was trying to beatmatch. At 1:30 you can clearly see that, while the track is stopped, he simply moves the pitch fader until (roughly) the right number shows up in the bpm display.
The throw in for the aerodynamic loop is slightly off, and the fact that the tempo is of by more that .1 bpm doesn't make it any better.
The cut to levels suddenly lowers the tempo by more than 3 bpm, as he didn't bother to move the fader to the right number again.
I didn't make it much further than to the track after levels. My ears were almost bleeding by then, because 90% of what that kid is doing are musical train wrecks....
I don't really understand why everybody here is getting so excited about this. I mean, ok, the kid is 11 years old, but that would only be impressive if he was really good!
A-Trak kicked the turntablists elite's asses in the 1997 DMC world final when he was 15, THAT's impressive.
But, as someone said before: that kid is playing a video game (without any further judgement regarding the current state or future of DJing implied in that statement!)
Someone showed him what buttons to press in which order and that's what he's doing.
At least that's what I hope he is doing... because if he wasn't it would mean that would mean that DJing had actually turned into a video game for kids that was only about pressing as many buttons as possible without caring to much about the musical levels (pun intended) of the performance ;)

The purpose of my post wasn't 'ripping that 11 year old a new one'. Some of the statements may have been a little rough, but the rest was objective criticism. After all, this was an entry for a competition and if you put yourself out there to be judged, be prepared to be judged. In full acknowledgement of that this kid is doing something not many kids his age do: if that had been my performance I wouldn't have published it, because I would not have considered this to be ready to be put in front of the eyes of the general public. But then again I've always been rather self-critical...
Anyway, the point of my first post was to put things in perspective as some people seemed to be wetting themselves in excitement as if they had seen the new mozart of electronic music.
At least since I read that "OMG he isn't even using sync" comment I couldn't stop thinking that the excitement of some people here might be slightly exaggerated...
