Sennheiser HD-280. Fairly inexpensive and effective. No problems in 3 years of use.
I just carry the headphones (aiaiai tracks) I use with my iPhone around with me as spares, sure they're not made for DJing but the odds of headphones breaking during a gig is small.....
I don't really get the point of spending $200 on a second pair... HD25s will never break.
I personally dislike "on" ear headphones. That discounts the HD-25-II's and the AIAIAI TMA-1's (which I have owned previously).
For a backup set of cans, I either recommend getting the exact same set that you use and love. Or just going without whatever fits your budget. For me, I use HDJ-2000's at the moment. If they ever didn't work, or if I forgot them, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to ask another friend who is DJing that night to loan me their pair. I've done it before for people, and I imagine the same would be paid back.
Something to be said for DJing with a crew and networking ;)
the koss pro dj 100 costs equivalent to just a few pack of smokes and it has good reviews on head-fi etc, im gonna pick one up for shitz and gigglez (and probably to watch movies or play games)
i currently have: audio technica ath-m50 / HD25 / Sony MDR-V6 / HDJ-1000 (Broken, duct taped together)
the HD25 is a solid performer but after some years you WILL have issues with the sound cutting off on one side (and needing to wiggle the connections to fix it) - its a good headphone for djing though coz its super light weight and sounds good, plus other than the sound cutting off it will probably last you FOREVER , if you can get em at a good price the HD25 is a good investment that will last you a long time
