I got some modifiers mapped to mine, but sorta in the same boat as DA, just need to decide what to do with them. I use them with 2 decks, not with 3 & 4 tho.

i like to slow down a track with the pitch fader till it stops as an effect. this really works well with like "swoosh" buildup sounds. also you can strech a somewhat cool effect to make the crowd react. works really well with dubstep.
i really like slowing down lets say a breakbeat tune to dubstep speed and then sync a dubstep tune on it and cut it over. sounds very clean as a transition and even people that dont know what a dj does hear that youre manipulating the tunes instead of just playing them one after another.
if i was mixing one genre that doesnt differ in bpm alot i normally wouldnt use the pitch fader either and just use the sync instead. for example if youre playing a straight techno or house set i'd rather keep the speed at one level to get that hypnotic 4/4 beat going.
Hmm i think a traktor experimentation session is on the cards for this afternoon :p might try it for the D/W and/or filters and see how that goes.
I do when mixing vinyl or on CDJs where you need to, otherwise if you are using digital there is no reason not to sync so I always do with traktor. If you prep your songs and check the grids are right there is no reason to adjust pitch yourself.
I like doing this on CDJ-1000s and set the pitch range to wide going from -100% to 0% and slowly accelerating up to speed. It is a cool effect indeed, not so much if you are on a smaller range- anything less than 16% doesn't sound good trying it and it's nothing like going from -100 to 0 or +8. On the positive +100% end things get crazy and I've done some interesting stuff with that. The numark TTs can also go down that low or it might be a 50% range which is still huge, I know Birdy Nam Nam uses them for that reason since they can't do what they do with the technics pitch.
