That's basically what they told me when I called them the first time because of one of the orders not going through. Basically it's super back ordered. If I were you i'd check what Guitar Centers in your state have them and then i'd get them to ship it to you. Even if it was $20 shipping its still worth it. The black ones are the same exact thing and they go for $200 a pop.Quote:

What does everybody think of the Mackie MR-8's? I got a manager to offer to substitute those for $150 each.
I'm a big fan of the Mackie sound, though I haven't listened to that pair. But they're as powerful as the KRKs and my guess is that they sound pretty creamy; maybe not as aggressive bass-wise as these but you certainly won't miss any bass either. My experience is mostly with their SRMs though, which are a different breed than the studio monitors, but my guess is the studio monitors sound better.
Loving the Mackies, HR624 is my prefered choice, though the MR-5s and MR-8s should be great as wel!Quote:

well i returned my cables and stuff and got an extended trs to rca to keep it unbalanced.

both when i was going form unbalanced to balanced with the TRS's and now when i am going form unbalanced to unblanced with this current rca setup, the one labeled "ring" has some strange issue with volumes at low levels.
When i put the level on my audio 2 all the way down then, very slowly, raise it, the levels on the "tip" rca goes up accordingly, but barely on the "ring" rca. after raising it a little more, it produces sound at the same level as the tip one. for a time it seems like sound is only coming out of one (only if u pay close attention will u notice that sound is coming out of the other (though very little)
i think it has to do with my sound card because i set it so that both speakers can be heard on the same (very low) level and then i lowered my itunes volume gradually. I noticed that both are ouputting the same level of sound.
in other words, up until a certain (low) level, only one speaker can be heard much higher than the other
So I got both my KRKs, and set them up using TRS to TRS cables, but now when I play music only one monitor plays the sounds. It's whichever monitor is plugged into the left outlet (The S4 is facing me).
Any help would be appreciated.
Have you swapped cables and speakers around to make sure everything works? Have you checked your output routings?Quote:

Edit: So I checked the back of the monitors, once I adjusted the levels on the right monitor (the one that wasn't playing sound atm) - sound started coming equally out of both.
However it seems that my right monitor has like a problem with the woofer. Fucking lame. Gotta go back to GC and pray they have a solution for me.

Omg FUCK I hate this one guy who has always put in his input in everything I have bought, but has never influenced my purchases. Today he was the guy ringing me up, and he said there were no others available that were new. He said there was one open box one at another GC, so I told him i'll take it anyway and he says "okay give me a minute I need to run to the back" -> 15 minutes later -> he comes back asks me for my card - so i thought it was to verify that it was the same credit card used to purchase that monitor and then a minute later he hands me it back with and says my account has been refunded. I just got the strangest email (4AM Arizona time) from GuitarCenter. It says that they've shipped my Six KRK 6 G2's and has a UPS tracking number. I am insanely curious to find what's in the box when it gets here.
To recap my adventures on this: I ordered 6 during the sale, called two days later to check status and was told that they were sold out, discontinued and there was no way come hell nor high water that my order would ever be filled. After much complaining, a manager had offered to sell me Mackie SM-8's for $150 each ($100 off the normal price), but I told them I'd think it over.
I'm going to be so shocked if I end up getting my order filled.
Coldfuzion maybe they're sending me the one's you returned. Haha.
If they show up I'll take two.
The most logical reason I can come up with is that someone (or some people) cancelled his/her/teir order and they came out with enough in stock to fufill your order, which may have beent he next one on the order list.Quote:

when i got my pair, one of them was pretty badly damaged during shipping (the entire side of the thing was cracked open). they didn't have anymore when i tried to exchange it, and i didn't want to be stuck with 1 red one so i returned the good one too.
they ended up offering me the grey limited ones at a slightly higher price than the 89 the red ones were selling for, but because shipping was free, i ended up paying slightly less for the grey set than i did for the red pair.
hopefully the grey ones ship ok.
