Because they work in both directions based on 2 different variables. Basically offers you 2 versions of each effect.

"Hi,
After seeing some of the recent discussions of Remix Decks and third-party controller support, we felt it would be worthwhile to explain our reasoning around not immediately providing in-depth control through the Controller Manager. There is a lot of conjecture around this issue and we wanted to be clear in our decision making process.
Remix Decks will have limited third party control options in Traktor 2.5, however more functionality will be added with later updates."
They said they would open them up to be map-able. It makes more than enough sense to do so, especially considering Maschine owners shouldn't be shit on like they currently are.
Ahh damn no cdj 850 integration
Is there a FLux Mode button on the UI? I can't see it anywhere...I see it in the controller manager as something I can map...but am away from my controllers right now and wanted to test it out before I went to the trouble of mapping it.
now, it's going to feel like a loooong day here at work! :(
I have a gig Friday and Saturday but I really want to try 2.6 out! Can anyone confirm if its stable aaaaaand should I jump the gone and update ASAP?
Cool...I see it now. I saw the single/gorup/post-fader/insert etc. drop down...but hadn't seen the flux mode one in deck mode select...
Anyway, flux mode does work as expected...looks like in the controller mapper there is the option to map an input (Flux Mode on), and two outputs (Flux Mode On and Flux Mode State). My guess is that Flux Mode On simply tells you whether you have flux mode enabled and flux mode state indicates whether you are in a loop or at a hot cue that will snap you back to the playing position of song (controller equivalent of the green "Flux Mode" bar that appears in the deck window). I think I will probably map flux mode to the loop in and out buttons on my MC3000 (I only ever use the auto-loop button anyway).
Crashed when I was messing around in controller manager, nothing crazy was just adding a midi in.
Couple of issues with the nexus HID support, slip(flux) mode works flawlessly but the button doesn't light up. Also reverse doesn't work and neither do the start/brake controls. Nothing I couldn't live without but the 850s had all those features (-slip) in SSL.
I wasn't planning on moving back to traktor anyway but it's a shame they missed a few features (or can't yet implement them).
Dude, honestly jsut play it safe and don't update. If your gig is in one or two days, it's notlike you're going to implement the new features like crazy anyway. I updated to Mountain Lion OSX on my macbook the day of a gig, and when I showed up to my gig my Audio4DJ wasn't working lol...I had to download the driver by tethering my cell-phone to my laptop and miss like a quarter of my DJ slot because of it. The second you get home from your gig you can download it!
Could someone please explain to me what 'post fader fx' is and means?
I've downloaded and installed the update. I use traktor with my s4 but I use it literally as it came out of the box, default settings and everything. I assume macro fx means a button that you've mapped yourself?
I wouldn't mind delving deeper into my s4 and properly putting it to use but I haven't a clue where to start, a lot of the stuff I read on here just goes straight over my head....
It means when you turn down the fader for your track, the FX can still be heard. I.E. if you have a delay going, when you lower the fader down the music will stop, but the delayed sound that was created will continue and slowly fade out.
Pre and Post Fader FX differ in what happens to the audio when you drop the line fader on a deck in which you have an effect applied.
Pre-Fader FX: The audio of the deck and FX drop off
Post-Fader FX: the audio of the deck drops off but the audio of the effect continues until naturally fades away

Digital DJ Tips has a short writeup describing these: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2012/10...now-available/
Any one know if the post fader fx will work with the DJTT S2 Mapping or previous mappings etc?
Thanks bmo and dirtynerd, much appreciated.
So awesome. Full kill EQs + flux mode + effect macros. Im assuming its all released and out of beta because I saw it on the service center for download?
Anyone knows what are these features?

New gain system with independent Channel Gain knobs and Auto-Gain knobs

I noticed they also added the P800 (Pioneer DJM 800) mixer prefrences too. Can't begin to tell you how happy I am about that. It was my biggest gripe about Traktor. The EQ's nerver sounded right to me.
does the Post Fader FX only work if your using a DJ controller? Does it work in external mixer mode?
testing right now.. found a weird bug:
deck B was always quieter than deck A and i couldnt find the error.. then i switched from internal to external mixing and back immediately and now it works..
had a couple of hours with it, seems pretty solid to me. Seems to be more cpu heavy altho i've been using 2.3 not 2.5 so this could be the remix decks, altho i'm not using them. The macro's seem to be really cpu heavy on my system, even just engaging the fx unit above the channel, without actually turning an effect on, if it has any macro's loaded in the slots in seems to give a big hike in cpu.
I expected a little since its a combination effect but not as much as this. I had a couple of glitches changing between effects too at first, but that seemed to stop.
i'm using an s2 btw,
Post-Fader FX do not work with external mixing. http://forum.djtechtools.com/showthread.php?t=59995&p=543454&viewfull=1#post543 454
Ok don't know if this is S4 specific, but prior to 2.6 I could use my loops (preset with cue marker) as a cue with out the loop engaging when looping was off. Now it automatically turns on looping when I use a preset loop marker. Not a huge deal, but kinda f'd up how I use my cues/loops.
Loving flux mode!!! ez instant remixing.
Macro Fx are pretty good also, except Flight Test adds too much sound. I have to turn down channel volume to use it.
So far this update is a win!
there should be some kind of LED to show if flux mode is on or off..
The deck header changes says flux mode for me.
