the hp envy laptops are awesome and so is the dv7 i7 laptops.. mcuh cheaper for what you get as well!

oh... and give it 4-6 years, the way marketing is going for macs.. there are going to be many viruses been made for them.. with alomost zero protection from apple

Its from the heat or something.

I can't (won't do it)wait for the touch Imac to come out and then deal with the bilion issues its going to have out of the gate. And software that probably won't be made for it for 3 years. Native instruments adopting a touch platform.?? hahahahaha ... i hope they can pull that off.

Decided on an i7 17" macbook. Base-line config. Will upgrade RAM and SSD drive later. Just need to get a computer that will run TSP, ITCH, Bridge, and ableton 8 to stay on top of the ware.

On build Quality -- Ive owned at least 15 macintosh computers. Stopped counting. Macintosh has always been a quality build -- the plastic macbooks are sell outs. mass mass. IVe always had great experience with any issue that comes up with any of my machines. Call apple -- send it in - comes back fixed in couple days. I sent the powerbook in after slamming my fist throught the track pad -- and it came back with a brand new case keyboard and disc drive -- all covered under warranty! Try talking to HP customer service? Let alone gotten anything fixed. neva...

just upgraded from an hp amd x64 3.2ghz 4gb ram desktop, and an hp 17" 4gb amd x2 turion x64 laptop, to a mbp i7 2.66ghz 4gb ram with 128gb ssd

holy shit

the difference is amazing, startling, magnificent.

still organizing the move, backing up songs / cues / ratings... cant wait to jump on it this weekend.

haha really?

i thought that stuff was backed up somewhere in the documents folder where traktor stores stripes, transients, etc, or somewhere in the song itself.

really, the only thing i care about are the ratings and comments - those i was assigning in itunes anyway. the cue points werent anything special yet, mostly load and loops, but those i can find out again on the fly. :D
