the sync half time thing is pretty cool but it looked like the sync was struggling to keep the tracks sync'd for any long period of time... almost like the tracks weren't beat-gridded...

Not interest in using it. But just as i was thinking Stanton needs a new product they wack this out great job:)
The knobs look kind of crappy. But, for someone w/out a reliable laptop, this seems like a great, inexpensive way to get into digital djing. no doubt there are many more "all in one" solutions on the way...
It'll be interesting seeing the production model that comes out. Stanton is targeting somewhat of a niche audience with many of it's products, and I almost feel that this is the precursor to things we will see more of in the future.
I can just see an iPad built into an S4 for the sole use of Traktor and having a music library in the future. This seems like some form of strange uncle project toward that end-vision.
this is basically a higher end bedroom conntroller. good for people who are inspired to be a dj, for a party for anyone to come up and mix in a song or two, or even a secondary controller for mobile dj's who do not have adequate room for a large coffin. this is basically the vci-100 of today.
The whole 'no laptop required' thing is huge for me, although there is no way this thing is as robust as traktor + the S4 running on a good laptop. For beginner DJ's though, or people who don't own a laptop, this may be the thing. Wonder how the FX are though, hooking this up with a kaoss pad would be interesting. I think people are forgetting it's still a Midi controller, sure no 4 decks on its own, but if you've got your laptop there you go. and it's still in the same price range as mid-range standalone controllers (and stanton's very own controllers). You probably wouldn't bring the thing to a club though, that would be kind of redundant, no?
I am really looking forward to this.
If the sound quality is good, the jogs are usefull it will def. be my next toy :)
no balanced out...?
