I use foobar for my listening/naming/tagging/file management and then drag & drop into traktor.
It's be nice if there was something that could read the foobar library but it's not that much of an issue for me since I don't mix a lot of the stuff in my library
Have you tried foobar2000? It's by far the most customizable, been using it for years

It works. I put tunes in my directory and it picks them up and plays them. Its all I need.
Ive tried different media players like foobar, media monkey, etc. I just cant be bothered to manage something thats trying (and mostly failing) to manage my music across several devices.
So I do it myself. I have a system that works for me and causes me zero issues.
I hate iTunes and refuse to install it on my pc.
It's on my macbook but only cos I have no idea how to get it off..

Another good idea for a search bar would be the ability to use the minus function like you can on google.
Say I wanted to search for house and tech house songs, I would type "house" into the search bar. But this would also bring up progressive house songs. It would be good to be able to type "house -progressive" into the search bar so I could quickly find songs that I required
Man I love this idea! I've always despised iTunes... Just don't like it.. Used to love MediaMonkey when I was working on PCs, but since I switched to Mac I've been looking for a good alternative. Good luck on this, I'll definitely be watching.
