it depends on the genre, for electrohouse and brosteppy stuff you can get away with the instant gratification map but for other edm genres it isn't very useful. then just delays, delays, and reverbs.

Love the beat masher! I have to stop myself from using that!
delay
reverb
echo freeze
beatmasher for an accent
gater
instant grat (ice/rev/peak filter) build up
bounce, on occasion
i use one, maybe two, effects per track, and usually only to accent something.
i would love to use flanger / phaser more, like how it was on the DJM-400 stock, but for some reason I either screw up the timing or something and it isn't quite like i remember it - on the djm, you hit the effect button, which "started" the flanger / filter at it's lowest point, and it would continue through its motion until you disabled it. with traktor, it seems like it starts wherever you last left off in its motion (terrible description, i know).
i've never taken the time to really dig into it. any advice?
Yeah I used it on chained but I've take a lot of time to master it. I don't turn up D/W more then 30% on beats and I never pass from 70% on breaks, It can make the music too loud on good audio systems... You can't hear it on shit speaks but on big ones or on car's systems it's clear more loud then normal.
It feels like a metalic trail with beats on 1/4 if you use it on 85% amount and 70% D/W at the breaks, try it, I'm sure you will like it.
Drop the drywet or hit the FX off right before the first beat for the best timing :)
I'm learning how effects work on Serato. It's cool to mess around with. I just don't see myself using them.
Mee too... never really tried it...
I had myself away from the flangers and phasers default from traktor because the same problem as you... I've changed my mapping to use the flanger and phaser FLUX instead, and I was doing my own variations by twisting the knob.
But now I will try this solution with LFO Reset...
I should experience more single FX... I'm a bit too focused on chained mode
