Seriously sounds like you're one of those kids doing it for title and attention. Quit while you're ahead - cause "if" you really are unhappy with the situation, human nature is to revolt/change it. So the sob story isn't really working. And if you honestly had money, go spend it. If your money isn't in your own account, that's your issue. You should have thought about that in the beginning.
^^This. What did you expect us to do about it?
If you are going to get around $200 for Christmas get a copy of Traktor, a copy of Traktor Bible and a headphone splitter cable. Use your qwerty keyboard as the controller and put up with the fact that you are going to be using mono for a while. Learn everything there is to learn (most of the skills you need are not based on a particular controller. Keep on working, add a controller, upgrade Traktor to Pro and build up. Problem solved, you dont have to ask your Dad shit. In fact you could "show" him you are serious by asking him for the Traktor Bible book for Christmas and telling him you will invest in the controller "when you are ready".
I am not even going to charge you for this advice.
Dude, you're old enough to move out, get a job, buy a pack a cigarettes and die for your country. Perhaps you're old enough to have different tastes than your dad. It sounds like you're looking to this forum to give you the permission and support that your father won't. In reality you don't need permission from anybody except yourself.
If you're going to be a DJ it will be because you found away to do it and not because your father let you (or a bunch of dudes on some website told you to).
When I was 18 I got kicked out of home and had to go from California all the way across the country an hour away from washington D.C. I always dreamed of being a dj since I was 13, I asked my parents parents for TT's, but no lie one christmas I got a pair of socks. So I would just stare at an old record player wishing it worked and could scratch on it. Always had bad luck and a hard life. It wasn't till I was 25 till I finally had the chance to get turntables, and I had to trade my PS3 for it. It's been a year from now when I finally got TT's and TSP1 and 2, but moral of the story is if you work hard and have patience you will get there, that's if you want it that bad. So please don't give us that crap dude, maybe your dad knows you and thinks it's a joke for you to be a dj. I didn't choose to dj, it was in my soul, and it chose me.
Just Be happy that Daddy is paying for college!!!
