Also, most SD card readers are on the root USB hub anyway.
Also, since when are mp3s 7 MB? I think the ones I still have around average more like 20MB.
And who still plays mp3s?
I play .mp3's. No problem using 320's. I'm guessing your 20mb tracks are 7mins+. Most of the tunes I play are between 3 and 5mins.
1min of audio at 320kbps = ~2mb
Apparently I'm the weird one. Whatever.
Long Live Lossless!
There's a slight difference between true quality MP3 (320kbps and above) and lossless. I can tell the difference in a studio environment, slightly, but not so much in a club environment. Most people in a club or lounge won't notice it because it is a social setting, and of course booze. All this coming to play, and the size benefits and usability of good quality mp3s are not that bad. I still use mp3s.
I'm aware. I was the one who ran the ABX test on here a few years ago.
I was the only one who did the test who (statistically) could hear it, and I did the test on genelecs.
Still....why NOT use lossless of it's unquestionably better?
Because the size difference is absurd.
I guess I'll revisit that when I have to "upgrade" from a laptop that takes 2 drives to the absurdly limited new ones.
