But I do agree, try to cut all incoming and outgoing messages as much as possible.
So far, all has gone really well on my MBP.

I've seen wifi-indiced crackle here, however ethernet seems to be fine. If you really need twitter, just get a cheap netbook which will take care of all the risky tethering and a crossover cable.
hey
really interesting project, really wanna hear how it goes. But i don't think it'll be easy, will be tricky.
Firstly obviously you'll need to reverse/invert the screen like has been mentioned.
but also, i don't know if the contrast and detail in the reflection will be enough to make it effective. One of the reasons that teleprompters are so effective is that the images they reproduce are really simple, just very plain white capitals text. Thats why the glass can be so see-through, either only 15-20% silvered for the stand alone ones or even just ordinary clear glass for the ones mounted on cameras.
with such a complex image to reproduce, a lot of detail and colours, you may need to look to much more silvered glass to get a usable image and it may become too dark to be practical.
Also you'd have to put in some sort of hinge or adjustment mechanism so that if the table/desk height or the height of the person uses it is different then you can point the reflection at them.
but yeah really interested to see how you get on.

I have a nice idea about this, perhaps I'll go and try it next week. Based on how that goes through, I'll send a picture of it.
Whilst this teleprompter type idea is a good one, I can’t help thinking that you guys are thinking inside the box and settling for mediocrity.
I, however, have an eye for the future, a vision of the seemingly impossible and a creative jaunty swagger that gets looks.
I can see pitfalls as mentioned with the teleprompter style of monitor, but can see some advantages.
I have found the TOTAL solution and have used my extensive graphic and technical capabilities to help explain my vision of club DJs of the future using my ‘mega-specs’.
These ‘mega-specs’ contain a hi-resolution monitor that can be viewed clearly behind a dark spectacle glass, giving them the trendy look of a cool pair of sunglasses, but in just one eye. The other eye has no glass in at all enabling the wearer to be able to walk around the club without bumping into anything or anyone.
The problem of being glued to a monitor all night, and therefore missing all of the ‘hotties’ would be a problem of the past and I bet DJs wearing my ‘mega specs’ would get more bedroom action than they could shake a stick at.
Please take a look at my detailed drawing which indicates fully my vision of the future.
