Why did you link an adapter that does not support audio?

thats cheap rrp is 25
i really think if you have no interest in IOS. and you get over the soundcard the CMD MM-1 is a better buy
..and will be awful build quality. Just buy the official connection kit and save some cash in the long run. I know from making the same mistake.
You realise the knockoffs are made in the same factory, right? :p!
Here's the right listing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lightning-...item4ac5489e1d
£6.99
Lets put it this way mate. Knockoff lasted one day before the soldering knacked. Official product still going strong after 4-5 months. :-)
Has NI confirmed that the Z1 is compatible with any of these USB Camera Kits, given that the included cable connects directly to the 30-pin socket instead?
Edit: The camera connection kit does not work at all on the Iphone btw.
If NI did this to be used with iOS, they should include that.
Btw, knockoff chinese cables (of any sort) are just useless, you never know when they are going to die for whatever reason. Just save a bit more and buy the real cables, like someone said above, I also learned the hard way (I bought, literally, hundreds of cables from ebay and every single one of them didn't last over a year )
Oh I'm on my third MagSafe. All replaced for free by Apple I hasten to add.
nice find.
thinking about it.. the z1 is basically a class compliant sound A2... that pretty much grantee's the next soundcard NI bring out will be compliant also..
the CMD MM-1 = £110 ( just read is class compliant )
plus a Numark Stereo iO USB Sound Card - £26
or other class compliant soundcard... = no brainer if your looking at this
Btw, I still use chinese cables on some stuff I never move. Like homecinema, etc. If you are going to plug it in-out many times, buy real :)
good move by NI.

some examples of setups.
BTW am I the only one out there that is desperate for timecode support with TDJ? That really would make the difference for me.
It does but the interface is a bit messy and cumbersome. Can't quite get away with it even though I grabbed it for free.
Not going to derail thread but loads of reasons why timecode with TDJ would be fab. Actually, turntables are fab...but that's not for this thread.
Nice addition to the lineup.
nope. looking at the cmd micro for some more portability options actually.
I'm happy with my VCM 100 for my portable setup. It has way more controls, amazing build quality, and I got it for about half the price of the Z1.
Only thing that's missing is TDJ's generic MIDI support..
Dont get me wrong this Z1 looks badass, but just because its new and shiny doesn't mean you NEED it eh. We see more and more guys buying new kit and it just gathers dust on the desk because they didn't think how to implement it in their own setup before buying. (i'm looking at you Mr. F1)
For me, a real mixer and 2 X1's is still the perfect setup.
fader needs to be on the side, no need for 3 crossfaders if they bought 2 and have a Z1 eh ;)
i use the 3d for the remix decks, i just don't use them enough to justify buying a dedicated controller for them. tbh i only use them to launch jingles for my radio show at the moment.
That's a pitchfader :P Having it vertical has always seemed arbitrary to me... plus when you have your TTs in battle mode its horizontal ;)
EDIT: Midifighter is WAY more expensive than the F1 though :p! Plus having the encoder and per-channel volume/filter knobs is really, really nice.
Where you put it, it looks like very convenient place to knock it off though.
True. To be honest, it's just a nightmare trying to fit a pitchfader on something the size of the X1/F1. Obviously the logical place for it is to the left/right of the jogwheels, but then you have to make them smaller :( If you put it next to the cuepoint pads, you have to reduce the spacing between the pads. Finding a decent layout is probably the reason why NI haven't made one yet tbh lol.
can these be linked up similar to the K2? i haven't looked into it.
They're both in the DJTT store at $249
Plus import tax. I loathe it. Florida in July for me. Already have an extensive shopping list.
