Are they the ones with the strange and useless waveform display?
They're great, particularly with SSL. They have the big pio jogwheel with flashy lights in the middle and all the transport features you need, but cost a LOT less than the others.
Yeh. Not a problem using Scratch Live though.
I was thinking of trading my 800s in for the 850's purely for the HID and usb in.
I just wanted to say that I love this thread! It's so enjoyable to watch how other's share the same passion as you but with other gear and other cool and mostly impressive setups! Keep sharing those setups people, I will do so too very soon :) Cheers
How the hell did they decide that waveform was a good idea? :(
I might have actually got some if it wasn't for that...
The first time I tried SSL was with a single CDJ-800 and I have to say the 850 is SO much better. Using timecode CDs is fine but I found them hideously inaccurate with cue positioning; the HID means that pressing cue actually goes back to the right point, loops work perfectly and you have the track name on the CDJ.
For anyone who was wondering and couldn't be bothered to google, here's a pic of what they look like:
Yes, the waveform is absolutely crap. Doesn't really bother me, particularly since I'm using SSL, but I can't deny the waveform is pointless. Would have been better to display more track info.
That looks like the same waveform as on the CDJ1000s.....
Also FEP, how the heck do you use all that gear! (or even have the time to use it! :P )
Goodbye NS6 hello DDJ-S1:
