The NS7 -- software, effects, and sampling
i finally caved in and got one a couple weeks ago when the new shipments came in. and DAMN is it cool. it's an awesome controller obviously (at least at doing the things that it's supposed to) but it just looks unbelievably sexy sittin in my bedroom. the ladies i've brought over were pracically tearing their clothes off by the time i let em mess around with it (aaand maybe a couple actually did... been a good two weeks haha). i'm unbelievably stoked to actually spin some club gigs with it, gotta wait another till the 16th though arggh.
i have been looking at switchin to traktor though... itch has made it very easy to learn to scratch, at least to a beginner's level, and i've also gotten a lot better at beatmatchin by ear, but i reaaaally want some integrated effects and sampling. i'd actually prefer to use Virtual DJ because i've used it forever and know all the shortcuts, but i just feel like the software's too unstable and i'm guessing it won't have as good of platter control as traktor. any thoughts on switchin to either?
Also: i'm thinkin the best choice might be to stick with Itch, and get some external components; guess i'm getting addicted to the hands-on feel of the NS7. in the long run, i'm definitely gonna want effects with good control/modulation, some kind of drum pad (or anything i can drop samples/loops on), and maaybe a small keyboard (i DJ for a rap band and we'll prolly have a full keyboard onstage anyway) so what kind of components should i look at getting and how exactly will i use them with the NS7?
PS thanks for the help so far y'all; if anyone wants pics/review of the NS7 lemme knoes and i'll whip something up
