I have it for over 3 years now, you'll get used to it. At first there's fear, later on there's acceptance. Plus they're busy trying to solve this 'phenomenon' (it's not a disease!).
I'm sure that within ten years there's a solution for tinnitus! You should be happy that you didn't have a spinal cord injury where you cannot move anything or something like cancer...
Think about tinnitus as your friend who reminds you of partying all the time. Rule out the negative feeling!!!
Oh yeah, and for everybody here who's dumb enough to NOT listen: wear EARPLUGS. I've got them custom made (they fit in my ear like a pee pee in a vulva) and it cost me about € 160, but I'm never exhausted anymore and never trouble with my ears, after going to a party...

I have these ones, where you can choose the attenuation (5 dB, 15 dB, 25 dB) and have monitors which fit right into them for DJ'ing!
