I think it would be better if questions regarding that blog entry be made on that blog. I feel I'm treading a fine line that I posted the link here in the 1st place. I can explain but I'd rather try to refrain from hijacking this forum if that's ok. So please feel free to do a quick copy n Paste in the comment section there.

I dont have time to read all the posts and i dont know if someone has posted this already but the reason i did was because as soon as i thought I was good ( but i was shit ) i wanted to share my passion with people.
That's the problem. Playing a shit set is CRUSHING. There's a logical progression to all this:
Buy gear
Suck
work hard
suck less
work hard
suck less
(repeat as necessary until non/very little suck is left)
Put out some mixes
(LISTEN to the mixes yourself MANY times!)
LISTEN to the feedback
work hard again
suck less again
THEN get some gigs (don't rely on a promoter to give you a gig. Get a night going yourself. Find a shitty little bar in town that'll let you hire out their room for free on a Thursday night. There are LOADS of bars that do this. They'll be glad of the 10 or 20 people that you bring in spending money at the bar.)
You'll learn the easy way, or the hard way.
The easy way is to lock yourself away, make mistakes in private, and learn from them.
The hard way, is to get gigs early on, and realise you suck with 50 people watching you suck (some of which will be bedroom DJ's learning the EASY way). You'll know them - they'll be the guys looking right at you smiling and shaking their heads when you f*ck up.
Although If the crowd could actually talk to the top DJ playing, I'm possitive some bedroom DJ would still try and give someone like Hawtin some tips on how he should be using his filters more to mix...
I'm not stating all BDJs are like this but i think you know the ones I'm on about.
I had one guy wanting to know what headphones I use??? He wasn't really impressed with my broken off left ear piece form a set of headphones, which cost me 30 Euro when it was all intact.
When I get my gear I want to have gigs as fast as possible for one reason:
The feeling when you get when you see people dance to your mix. Thats all it is for me.
jup thats true ofcourse :P but yeah im not gonna have a gig right away thats for sure. But I have tons of friends who already play gigs weekly and they would probably help me on my gigs at the beginning. What I mean by not having a gig right away is:
Buy gear
Practice
Practice
Practice
Practice
1 year later
Practice
Practice
Try to get a gig
Learn of my mistakes
And then repeat everything above
