Scratch Mixers - suggestions?

Ok, so I've never used Traktor with a 'proper' mixer (I come from a TP & VCI background, so upgraded to TSP, bought decks and use my controller as a mixer, sending the master out from the soundcard to the amp)

I occasionally use a third Traktor deck for samples, this is easy enough on the VCI as I use either deck C or D depending onwhat appropriate - I assume I'll need a 'third' channel of some description for this on the mixer if I want to continue doing the same - would the aux in on the Rane 56S suffice?

The main issue of the 56/57 AUX is that it lacks headphones monitoring. It also lacks EQ, but you can use the software filters in traktor.

this new Vestax PMC 5 Pro IV, which Gizmo suggests seems a great choice, for 3 channels mixing imo. The Nuo 2.0 is right behind it.

It is lush ... I'm so tempted, but it's about twice what I hoped to be spending.

I might just bang it on a card and then never have to buy another mixer (or at least not for a good few years)

If you're getting into the realm of 3chan mixers I'd also recommend taking a look at Rane's Empath. Haven't ever used one personally but it seems to get a lot of support.

funny, but i've checked few forums for the Nuo 2.0 vs Vestax and the common statement is Nuo for sound quality. I've had a vestax PMC-280 before and it wasn't bad but maybe the Nuo is better. The Vestax's EQs were not great for sure, but maybe the 5ProIV has improved, idk ...

Hoping for Gizmos review over on Skratchworx tbh ...

the cheapest mixer that can use a innofader = scratch mixer.

Sounds like a false economy to me.

AEM-100i= $250, Nuo 2.0 = $300. No reason to spend more.

Because superior build and audio quality isn't important?

edit: wait are you saying the ecler is the cheapest mixer or that there's no point buying an ecler nuo? I didn't think the Nuo was innofader compatible. Still, there's always the eternal fader!
