Midi Fighter 3D?

I must say I was not a Midi Fighter Fan. Till today! This new 3d version has caught my interest and my imagination on possibilities on what can be done and interact with the crowds I play for. I have been using the APC40 mostly for chained effects and sound destruction and manipulation but it leave me stuck in my own space due to the fact its not mobile enough to take out front stage.

This my friend CHANGES THE GAME.
With 180 degree motion sensitivity.
Dynamic button light color mapping +10 on this move.
Can't wait to get my hands on this one and thanks for making me a now Midi Fighter Fan!

With just a small caveat.
Advice and request: Could you please offer a WIFI version so we can lose the usb cord this will allow us to really use this outside the DJ booth while we hype a crowd up and interact with them.

Another thing to note is that, for me, the price seems completely reasonable for a Midi Fighter classic with professional case, rgb leds, dedicated bank buttons AND six additional shift buttons. The motion stuff is just an added bonus. If you never use it outside of playing around, you still got a great controller for what I think is a reasonable price. If you do end up using the motion, awesome!

(full disclosure: of course, I may be a tiny bit biased cause I wrote the colour configuration tool for it...)

Will the full feature use of the MF3d be dependent on Traktor 2.5? I'm having a feeling it will be for true (and meaningful) RGB light control. I may be wrong though. It is just so coincidental that NI is also bringing out the Kontrol F1 with RGB buttons along with TP2.5. Looking forward to both these beauties.:)

It needed to be done. This aside, my head is starting to wrap around it... I won't be able to treat the innovation the way I treat my current midifighters, but it will be really cool if I take it on as a different piece of equipment.

Throw it on a guitar, map the motion control and buttons in any DAW, run the guitars output through said DAW . Rock out with the added bonus of controlling some effects or what not. Might just have to try it.
Its a mappable motion controlled midi controller with direct feedback and more. Sounds pretty sweet to me. reserved.

Nope - the color works like this.

Simple Mode

You use the supplied utility to choose the inactive (button not pressed) and active (button pressed) color for each button in each of the four banks.

Advanced Mode

You use MIDI out messages to control the LEDs, this overrides what ever simple mode setting the button has.

The velocity of the MIDI out message controls the effect of the message.

Velocity 0 = No Effect
Velocity 0 - 65 = Reserved for future use (Ableton has 54 colors ...)
Velocity 66 - 86 = Directly set the color to one of the 20 available settings.
Velocity 86 - 102 = Uses the inactive color, set to one of 15 brightness levels
Velocity 103 - 118 = Uses the active color, set to one of 15 brightness levels
Velocity 119 - 127 = A variety of flashing states which can be MIDI clock synced.

@Karlos - Yup - we already got a call from LMFAO's manager, Sky Blue also happened to be one of the first artists to see the prototype mid last year.

God I wish SSL had traktor's midi capabilities. This thing looks like a beast.

I've been rebuilding an old strat copy a friend of mine gave me a few months ago. I was going to put a monome in it to control ableton but now i'm thinking this. I would love to have that 3d control on my guitar :D:D:D

these options look very cool... the 20 options include all possible colours at max brightness?

if subsequently a CC is sent out in the range 86-102 (or 103-118?) it will affect the brightness of the colour currently selected via 'advanced' mode or then flip back to the default 'simple' colour?

being able to dynamically select colour+brightness for any button via a single CC would be very cool.

only a subset of those usable in midi-synched-goodness flashing mode i guess?
