if u can get one then it mentioned registering after april 1st - so should be fine. doesn't seem to mention anything about when the licence was first purchased - but hopefully you'll get lucky.

ah ok - i get what u mean now. but all NI would have to do is make that hid interface available in TSP and *not* TP and problem solved ;) as it wouldn't make any diff to them whether u used timecode or hid with your cdj then, as they'd be getting paid the same, and having that hid interface may well tempt more users into traktor in the first place, so could well be a decent ROI.
not really... even if TSP had a much better hid implementation with cdj's that's *only* cdj's. won't affect users of other cd players and/or vinyl timecode users.Quote:
If TP3 included AHID, Native would effectively be signing the death warrant for their timecode hardware, and as weve seen today, and the entire point of the move Native's making, the hardware is what makes the money in the long run. The short term profits of TP3 wouldn't match the losses they'd take by bypassing their own soundcards. Native holds all the cards, and has to paly them to their advantage.
so the only thing they would lose out on is the sale of their soundcards... but if they only added this hid implementation to TSP and not TP then problem solved. everyone's happy as any cdj+traktor user would already have TSP and not TP anyway so they could use them with timecode.
by AHID u just mean "better use of the cdj hid protocol" i guess... that protocol is fixed-ish i presume, it's just how much and how well they are (not) using it...
haha I've gotta stop commenting on shit I know nothing about... :001_unsure:
You guys were talking about the possibility of Traktor being a dongle product like SSL and the benefits of X number of DJs arriving and just plugging in a thumbdrive or whatever. You guys are seriously considering playing on a computer you have no idea what it's system health is? I mean, it's one thing if your computer dies or it's a friend's device but a totally random club computer seems like going a bit too far IMO.
One of the main elements that generated hate among lappy users in the early days was stability, are you guys seriously considering taking that step back?.
hell no... i don't really understand the whole point of the "dongle discussion" really... if u have a backup laptop then u can install traktor on there too anyway - and if u borrowed someone else's laptop you'd still probably need to install the software. screw that... i'd rather use cdj's or whatever else the club had.
afaik only shishdisma like the idea of a dongle based system (DBS). if part of a DVS would that mean it'd be a DBS/DVS or just a DBDVS? :p
Again, with traktor you don't need your laptop. You can install your copy of traktor onto whatever computer you happen to come across- not that I believe any DJ worth his salt will let you install shit on his laptop.
xwax is better than both- If I wanted I could have a portable linux OS on a thumb drive that does nothing other than run xwax for me ;P
Mac Mini(s) - job done :DQuote:
A tiny metal box thats designed around a booth, and tucked away somewhere is infinitely easier to manage than a laptop.
Ive got a buddy who recently got hold of a Scratch Duo 2 package. He's been sent the mail advising him he's got an update to Pro 2. Not scratch pro 2.
The NI website also states this, nowhere in the free upgrade path is the 'scratch' certification.
He's pretty keen to bag this update, but im thinking its going to crap out his scratch capability completely. Am I right?
If so, how much is it gonna set him (and others like him) back to get the scratch capability back again?
Hardly, you also need a monitor + keyboard + mouse.
A netbook is a better solution.
