Just watched the video of the winner. Seriously, I'm shocked at that winner like almost everyone else.
I think it's around 4:15 that he transitions between songs and you can hear that he's not beatmatched. It's so off. He then just fades one track out and the other in. The effects are really heavy handed and standard (FLANGER! PHASER! GATER!), and I'm actually one of those people that doesn't mind DJ's throwing in a lot of effects if it sounds good.
