yah you are right about the gain knobs damit. I line the gains up first with the LED lights on my mixer so they are the same volume every mix. then I go through the mid and treble. bass realy makes them the same volume to. its ok you know what you are doing!!!!!!!

the knob twisting in that example actually has a purpose though, and I'd go so far as to call it tastefully done.

The poster of that video is obviously a fan of some "star DJs" who claim to be faking it on stage. And that poster has no ID how to DJ as well, because the tapping of the CDJ cue button is common to getting the beats matched. I even know that having never used a CDJ. The twisting of the knob was some cool filter effects that you can actually hear. Maybe the poster just doesn't know how to listen or how to DJ, but he's actually disproving his point by trying to say Art Department aren't doing anything with the knobs and multiple taps.

I'm with @ImNotDeadYet. That was way less annoying than laidback luke and steve aoki. (no problem with sander).

Laidback Luke....I've seen him live a handful of times. One of them (2010?) was pretty darn good for big room stuff. It was during his Jay-Z phase, and I loved that album.

Steve Aoki....yeah. I think 3 times. Literally every time he touches a mixer, everything gets worse. Someone should teach him to play with dead channels. His sets would get better.

Half of the videos I've seen of people claiming fake knob twisting aren't so, still waiting to find waldo doing it.

I mean exactly that. You've been producing music for years right? If that's so than your ears should already be trained to a high level. You're telling me that you can't listen to a music and hear what's going on? You're like a very tall midget, I don't get it.

umm did I say something wrong? and actually I don't produce I just spin. I use ableton here and there. and I am not a midget.
