Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with members directing people to the posts they are looking for. There isn't a need for anyone to post garbage on a thread that asks a question they only asked a month ago themselves.

another try (posted this idea 2 years ago):
wouldn't a DJTT wiki adress to some of those concerns?! things like what should i buy, how do i set up and other beginner questions could be answered in there and be a knowledge center for the whole community, where important information wont get lost on page XXX of general discussion.
To be fair I really don't have a problem with people asking questions that have already been asked. Easy to point people in the right direction. The issue is the attitude in the responses. Some of them are downright aggressive and it ruins the feel of the forum. I want this place to stay friendly, fun and informative. Not hostile. I'm just gonna use the ignore option more from now on. If I can't see it I won't get pissed off.

+1
but one thing that annoys me more and more is that it seems that nobody is using the search function at all.. there are tons of information on the forums and all over the webz, regarding topics like "whats the best controller" and other stuff..
might be just an attitude thing (i wouldn't bother writing something before i do a search on the forums and google), might be pure laziness.
We live in the age of entitlement. Everyone thinks that they deserve what they want, and don't see a need to work at it. Kids are taught you can be whatever you want when you grow up, you can be a firefighter, a DJ, an astronaut AND a pilot if you want it enough. Why should I search something and put the effort into looking, if I can ask, and everyone will just give me the answer? (Of course I use "I" hypothetically)
Laziness and entitlement pure and simple. Look at the threads: what should I buy? What is the best? What music should I play? I have a gig in 2 hours, how do I hook up a mixer? Is Sync cheating? Instead of taking 10 minutes to use google or our search, its easier to type those few words and click post.
Expect it to get worse though gentlemen. The age of entitlement is just starting.
I will definitely check that book out. Thanks bro.
Plus, searching doesn't work well. People (theoretically) learn things and change opinions at least as fast as new gear comes out…which seems every couple days or something stupid like that.
The search function really sucks.Quote:

I use the site:djtechtools.com/forum search in Google all the time.
