DJM-T1 or Z2?

Now that is actually pretty sweet and a HUGE selling point for me. I imagine though that the Kontrol Z2 does the very same. Hmmmm. I seriously think they missed a huge trick on the T1 by not having dedicated filters on channels A & B. These could even have functioned both in internal mode controlling Traktor, and then in external mode being hardware filters. I work around I was thinking of is having FX1 as three effects as now, but having FX2 with only on functional effect channel and remapping the A&B internal mixer filters to the 2nd & 3rd FX2 effects pots. Not ideal, but I could not give up my dedicated channel filters in software if I do not have them in hardware..... HUGE MISTAKE PIONEER!!

Which leads me to a question re: the Z2. This has dedicated A&B filter pots. Am i correct in thinking these function in external standalone mixer mode, both when controlling Traktor AND when the same channel is being used to route a standard CDJ or vinyl deck???? The USB hub feature is also an enormous plus.

Z2 edging in front...... and is the Z2 post fader when in external mode? and does Z2 allow for internal Traktor set recording when in external mode also?

The Z2 only works in Internal mode when playing from Traktor.

But can it be switched to external so CDJs can be used while a track from a Traktor deck is playing? if not.. POINT PIONEER!

Both mixers can mix and match between Traktor decks and external sources.

But can they switch between internal and external mode without interrupting the master output is the question. I was not sure if the T1 could but that question was answered in the affirmative earlier on this thread, so the Z2 also I take it. This is relevant to the T1 as you must be in internal mode for post fader FX (but then you lose the damned LED volume levels), maybe the Z2 doesnt have this internal/external distinction that the T1 does.....

i think i slipped up, jb hifi (aus) had a sale on yesterday and i'm 99% sure they were selling these at $487 aud. If only i'd have got my phone out to see what they were worth! Should have known they would a fortune but i just saw 2 channels and though mehhh.

Would have been perfect for me, as i only have a maschine so im in need of a soundcard, traktor pro serial and eq controls. Doh!

Thats assuming i could use the soundcard for maschine?

A typical 2 channel mixer + a Traktor Audio 2 (includes Traktor Pro) will cost about half as much as the T1/Z2

Just did a quick google search, i didnt realise you could use both outputs and put them into a mixer for 2 channels. i thought it was just for mixing in traktor and have a headphone out and master out

DJM250K = $198
Traktor Audio 2 = $139
Total= $337

Cheapest i've seen the z2 for is around $800, or cash converters have one at $600, but its had the **** kicked out of it.

Main toss up for me is do i want the t1 for its inbuilt track selection etc, which can be done on the maschine, but is abit awkward/fiddly. Or the split up set up, so if i ever play out, if they have a mixer, i can leave mine at home.
