You'll always get all new information within the first 3 posts of this screen.
I'll update it often so keep your eyes open.

Midi Fight Club


Details
Date: 23th of July 2010
Location: Tresor Club (Globus Floor + bar next to it), Berlin, Germany
Floor-Size: 250-300 party-people + ?? on the bar floor
Headliners:

DJ Shiftee (DMC Champion 2009)

Strip Steve (Boys Noize Records)


Directions::
Köpenicker Straße 70
10179 Berlin

by train:
From Berlin main-station go to Berlin Alexanderplatz via S5, S7, S9
You have to walk 3-4 minutes to Alexanderplatz S+U (subway).
Then go 2 stations with the U8 towards Hermannstr.
Leave at Heinrich-Heine-Str. (U) and follow the path on the picture in the attachement.
If you're good it takes 18 minutes to get from main-station to the Tresor.

Hotels:
I'll look for some hotels soon and also ask the few Berlin resident DJTT-member if they can pick up someone.

Lineup:
We got time and place. Now it's time for the community to shine.
If you want to spin at the party, please express your interest again here.
I don't know if we can cover any expenses as the budget is very tight, but I'll see what I can do. If there's money left after the party, I'm spreading it at the community.
Please note a myspace/soundcloud or homepage of yours along with your style.

Homepage:
Someone may create a small homepage based on the flyer. It shall only consist of a few pages and give information about the event itself and the artists spinning there.
I can provide a domain and webspace + a MySQL-database if necessary

Flyer/Poster-design:
We have several designers here, please make a draft or whatever and post it.

DJ-Pool
This list represents all DJs willing to spin at the party.
A schedule will be made ready asap.

If you're up for it, Restricted Sessions can be there too. (2, 3 or maybe even 4 DJs B2B2B2B, gotta see who can make it though)
Styles differ from deep house to tech house to progressive to techno to minimal to drum&bass.

Yesss, thanks for adding! Didn't even read this thread yet, thanks panda :)

By the way, in case you're going to note down the lineup somewhere more or less public, I now go by the name K.T.I.T.
It's easier to remember, pronounce, write and dotted names are just way cooler :D

Well done getting a room in Tresor, good luck to all parties involved (no pun intended).
I would've suggested "program change" as a gig name but I'm not sure how well it would fit since the formula doesn't stray too far away from what is usually played there... unless you're planning crazy mashups (haven't checked everyone's audio).
Also that'd be a little ironic with Traktor not getting PC messages :p

One name that I came up with was "Midi Fight Club" but then again I don't know if all of us are going to use controllers in one way or another.

They are basic but I have to admit that I don't like them too much. They look like most other flyers floating around Berlin and the typography although fitting into the context is hard to read and all in all a bit too much. Looking at them I got an idea (involving a nice light up MIDI-controller). I'll do it tomorrow. You can improve it or tear it up if its not good.

While I like it, "normal" people won't get it. I have to figure out if we're bound to electro/house and that stuff or can freely choose.

I hope we'll be able to record all/most sets that night so all people who can't make get at least a taste of what it was like.

How about getting a name that shows that this is an internationel night. There will probably be guys spinning from many contries, and this is one of the things that makes this night special. A key selling point i my view!

sounds of europe or international beats really don´t have a message since almost every party in berlin hosts international dj´s...dunno

With "MIDI Fight Club" not being music-related you are certainly right.
But as earl_panda stated, having international DJs is nothing fancy in Berlin.

I'm sorry about that weltraumpapst. Tresor was already booked for the 24th :/

About the big names in the line-up, maybe it's possible to contact Heiko Laux. He's a resident at Tresor and I saw him play during the Tresor Turbulences Tour here in Holland. He spins proper techno and some tech-house and is also a digital DJ (Serato DVS).

Unfortunately the sets on there are not the newest, but I've got some problems in Ableton I've got to solve first. I'll try to put a new set online asap.

That is correct. I'm still open for suggestions regarding the name of the party, but "Midi Fight Club" would be my choice as of now (including a kickass flyer/poster)

I missed an important thing:
We don't just have the Globus. We get the bar next to the Globus too which also has a soundsystem so we have two floors.
The bar is for a bit more experimental stuff.

still got a question on my mind: will this evening only be mnml, techno cause eric and i would love to do a dubstep set but we can also provide a nice techno set?

I think the choice will be up to you.
Techno is more famous in Berlin though.

Maybe you'll even have to chance to spin in both, Bar and Globus.

well there is sometimes dubstep in the tresor so i think there will be no problem in spinng it ;)

As far as I know Tresor is known for hard Techno but the Globus floor is supposed to offer a little more variety. Generally this results in Minimal Techno / Tech-House, though anything related to Dark and Deep Electro-stuff should be possible.

yeah, i just made them as a quick mock-up late at night cause i couldnt sleep. Thanks for your honesty. I just wanted something to start with. Like you said, they look like a generic Berlin flyer. I did not want to be to much outside the field. At last it has to be recognized as a Globus Party Flyer. We can most certainly build upon that. I can improve your idea for sure, i am curious to see it.

I like MIDI FIGHT CLUB. More than MIDI MESSAGE MASSACRE. Sorry Ed, but this just sounds too violent in my ears.

BTW, am i the only one who cant stop grinning now that the party is on its way? :D

Well done for sorting this out guys, looks exciting and especially after seeing the pics of the club on the website. I might be able to make it over still, flights are about £60-£80 if anyone wanted to go from london I have just seen, that's leaving on the friday morning and coming back satuday.
