Any body have these? Would you say they accent the bass or are they more of a flat sound? If you also have or have used HD280's and can compare them that would be great.

they tend to be more flat as they're more so meant for production rather than DJing however they are a phenomenal pair of headphones
unfortunately i've never used HD280s so i cannot compare
7506s all the way. They'll last you forever, and they have a really nice, balanced sound. If you must have more bass, go for the 7509s.
Just to clarify I don't want more bass and am looking for a more balanced sound.
For production then....that's what you need to specify.
That will have a flat sound....so you can hear whats REALLY happening.
More Bass would be DJ cans.

I just bought some not too far back. I was using complete crap headphones before so I don't have much to compare them to. But I'm very happy with them. They seem to be pretty balanced as far as Bass/Mid's/Hi's go. I did a lot of research before I bought them, and for the price they seemed to blow everything else out of the water.
If you look at the specs, it shoudl tell you the freq range it has.

If I'm interpreting it correctly it the Senn's would have a touch more bass because of the 8 hz over the 10 hz of the Sony's. The 25,000 hz of the Senn's versus the 20,000 hz of the Sony's I think means the highs would be a little louder on the Senn's or would those numbers cancel each other out on the Senn's?
I have the Sony's, but like Waterjunkie had total crap before I got them so I don't have any thing to compare to. I can go to Guitar Center and listen to a pair of HD280's, but that's an hour drive one way and $20 worth of gas in my truck. I do have the day off though and my wife's at work.
they will break at the left hinge eventually, like most headphones of this type that have plastic parts.
suggestion: try the beyerdynamic dt-990 pro. unlike the sony, it's open (you will notice the difference after a few hours of working with them) and has metal parts where they are necessary.

My friend has had his pair for 6 YEARS and they only broke because someone sat on them. The plastic is good. He uses them for DJing, as do i, but I definetly plan on using them for production since I will not be getting a pair of mackie monitors for a while
The response seems pretty flat to me, allowing me to balance the bass EQs of the tracks playing pretty well when I mix. In comparison the Allan and Heath cans (the 200$ Xone headsets I believe) has a shit ton of bass compared to this sony

PS: also the 600's go around your ear so comfortably :) , but if u plan to double them as dj cans (which as i said should be no problem) put them around ur neck if ur going to jam out, they are not the tightest headphones in the world.
MDR-7506 are one of the most tankish headphones I've used from Sony. Flat sound, good construction, and very comfortable to wear. They're one of my favorite.
And trust me, they do not fall apart. If you manage to succeed, I'll buy you a replacement pair, I'm that confident in their build. :P
also if you're looking for a "DJ headphone" version of the MDR-7506, AudioCubes sells the exclusive to Japan MDR-CD900, same exact frame, but with bumped up specs.
I agree these are nothing like the 700's that people break all the time. These have a metal hinge and a pretty solid construction. I'm not worried at all about breaking them.Quote:

same here i like the overall feeling. I completly jizz in my pants when i heard the sound compared to the crappy jvc wallmart headphone. For me there good for general use dj / prod whitout blowing out a huge chunk of moneyQuote:
