Can I suggest a thread for addendums to the DJTT survey?
Starting with -
1. A 'seperate' forum for non-tech madness. Benzonate, Tekki, Jester.NZ et al are one of the reasons to visit DJTT, but often have NOTHING 'to do with digital djing' (sic).
Don't stop the madness - give it it's own page:eek:.
The DJTT crew wants to keep the total amount of forums to a minimum, that's why there is a general discussion thread.
As long as the threads are marked [OT] it's free game.
(OMG, another thread that has nothing to do with DJ-ing! :eek: )

I agree that keeping the number of threads to a minimum is important - but I'd like to see an OT forum.

There should be separate forums for OT crap, General DJ Help, and 'Too Lazy to Google'

yeah i wish i could change something on the survey aswel. on the question how much do you spend on audio equipment/gear/software per year, i put 10 grand. i did spend at least ten grand in the last year, but thats kind of exeptional. i mean, i basically upgraded my whole DJ setup (new mixer, new technics turntables, new headshells made for timecodes, and a roadcase), got a new set of monitors, bought a virus TI polar synth, and a bunch of midi controllers, upgraded from logic 8 to 9, reason 4 to 5, and upgraded from traktor scratch to TSP. but i dont usually spend that much in a year, so the figure is kind of off...
as for the whole shenannigans thing. i reckon general discussion is fine for shenannigans, as long as ppl put (OT) before the thread. otherwise the forums are split up too hard. i allready kind of find the "music production" and "mixes and production" threads hard to discern.
i think itd be sweet to have like once a month an article on one of the hottest topics in the forums, or the one with the best user interaction, that delves deeper into the issue, because who knows how many people read these articles and have questions that are never answered because they dont post in the forums...
might be helpful.
also id love to see if the DJTT crew designed some software **Cough** Traktor pro w/ Ableton bridge **cough cough** :P
OT threads in general discussion kinda set the tone for the forums. As in the DJTT community doesn't take itself too seriously, but does take the business of controllerism seriously. Keep em where they belong in GD. They are always a fun mental break from other more serious threads!

There was a time when a group of us would regularly go down and kick it in the stacks. We would dig for hours at our favorite local Vinyl shop, which was also owned by a resident of the club next door.

We felt compelled and drawn to this new ground pounding bassline that was resonating from the underground next door. As we drifted toward it, we bumped into old and new friends alike. While we set up camp in our usual spot, our our teeth began to chatter to the driving beats beneath us and lightshow above. The night shifted into high gear as we unleashed the fury...and this is the journey on which our epic nights would unfold.....
Much of that scene is long since gone here, the underground and much of the community that supported it. Replaced by cookie cutter top40 spots, or whatever drives drink sales. This also correlates with the responsibility of life, and our proximity to the underground, leaving only those unforgettable nights as distant dreams, that still to this day, provokes frissions of epic porportions. So we channel our epic house parties through you, those who maintain the community and drive music that is truly massive and compelling...creating nights they'll never forget.
DJTT and the DJTT Crew....a place and people I connect with, as there is no other like it.
