Mixed In Key 4on 64 bit WIndows 7

Just tried to install a version of Mixed In Key 4 I bought before going travelling a few months back. Trying to install it and it goes through fine.

However, trying to open it and it point blank refuses crashing on start up.

I read some things about people having problems running it on 64 bit Vista and Win7. Any ideas how I can get it working?

Read something about using CorFlags.exe and enter the parameter:

CorFlags.exe /32BIT+ "path_to_MixedInKey.exe"

to force it into 32 bit. No idea how to do this though!!!!

Any wise chaps here able to help?

i would like to know this as well..... i ran into the same problem and found no help either...

According to the MIK site it does work on 64 bit so the problem is elsewhere.

Problem is definitely MiK. Seems to be a common question in their forums.

It runs fine on an old 32bit XP laptop, but typically, that laptop is old and pappy with a spec so low it's of practically no use....apart from MiK it seems!

Just cracked it! For anyone who wants to know cos having same issues, follow this simple guide:

1. First download the x64 .Net framework - get x64 version 2.0 as it has SDK Tools

2. Now open the SDK commandprompt as administrator from Start > Microsoft.NET > SDK COmmand Prompt

3. Typ in the cmd: PATH=%PATH%;C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\v2.0 64bit\Bin and hit enter

4. Typ in the Cmd cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Mixed In Key 4 and hit enter

5. Typ in the Cmd corflags /32bit+ MixedInKey.exe and hit enter

if you did it correctly you get:

Microsoft (R) .NET Framework CorFlags Conversion Tool. Version 2.0.50727.42
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

And hey presto. Mixed In Key 4 runs in 32bit mode on your 64bit machine!

i had an issue with the advanced system care program. deleted that and mik works fine now. no extra tweaks necessary
so i would check for compatibility with any antivirus/ malware stuff you have

I can get it to work via above command, but it still only detects bpm and doesn't pick up the key?! When I try to open without the above command, a black command box pops up and vanishes within about 0.5 seconds, so impossible to see what it says! Also, my studio OS on my PC is free of any anti virus software so it can't be that. Also tried installing it many times.

Any ideas?

And before anyone asks, this is a legitimately version.

Obviously meant in the send of getting the programme to run in 32 bit mode on 64 bit Windows as described.

Anyone got any useful additions to get this working? E-mailed MiK with my authorisation code etc and they refuse to give a refund stating that in their tests it works on 64 bit Windows, when it clearly won't on mine!?

Paid $60 for nothing at the moment as I'm still using MiK 2.5 and Rapid Evolution 3 for the moment.

I just bought the full package (MIK + PN) today and there's no way I can get it to work.

trying to install it normally, no work it crash !
trying with administrator right click it crash !

Following some pieces of advice from this forum, and trying to edit the file using both net frameworks and SDKs 2.0 and 4.0 (as advised in http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24739), I get the following error message in both instances after last command line.

corflags : error CF008 : The specified file does not have a valid managed header

Sadly, google is of very little help on this matter.

Does anyone know how to circumvent that kind of difficulties?

Ps: just to precise that it's official W7 64 bits

Same issue I have. Does not work on 64 bit Windows 7. Original win7 and original MiK4. Very annoyed as MiK are refusing a refund and not being very helpful as they just keep telling me it works fine on win7 64 bit, when evidently it doesn't and is erratic and unreliable at best, if you can get it to work that is!

That's why I said.unreliable. Seems to work for some and not for some. Even lots of people on about it on MiK's forums and they still refuse to accept that there's some issues with it.

Don't know if it could be helpfull but i find a way to run it !!!!

Ok so no way to run PN and MIK on W7 64 bits but after 2 weeks of head scratching.

I decide to install a 32 bits XP virtual system running under my W7 64 bits.
And ..... It work !!!!! ( using VMware ) after one update ( on 32 bits system ) .Net so maybe it's way for W7 64 systems users to find a way till next MIK & PN update to run softs and not waste money.

PN is the sister program to Mixed In Key, Platinum Notes.

I just works mate, no tweaks just installed and boom, works fine.

No issues here either (win 7 home 64)

I've been trying on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit for weeks now and got nowhere! Got it to open up but refuses to detect the key, so in the commands it obviously disables some key function.

MiK are being no help at all when I've emailed them either and still refusing a refund even though weeks later I still can't get it working! Even tried the 7 day distance selling law in the UK to get a refund but they wouldn't budge.

I'm getting the same problem - I can't even install it :(
