Just incase no-one was counting...
Oh trust me... I'm counting the hours. I literally can't wait to run my 1200s through my S4 with TSP2 and get my turtablist feel back.
Early release, 1st gen, buggy hell...
"i took my brand new TP2 to a gig and blah blah wasn't working..."
etc etc.
As always, I'm waiting till the bugs (I'm sure there will be) have been ironed out before I jump in.
If no one reports any issues at all, then i'll jump in but you know it will be updates galore until then.
Im holding tight until the green light
getting it right away, but thanks to the side by side installation am prepared for the bugs.
Any idea if mappings and such are transferable?
Trust me, you're not the only one counting.
I'm optimistic about buggyness aswel, since lots of people (eg karlos, ean) have been running it for a few months and have said it's pretty stable. This isn't such a big ground-up rewrite as TP1 so it should be OK (fingers crossed).
As for dumb questions, that's gonna be unavoidable.
Think i'm on holiday next week..
True... am hoping my wait won't be long as it looks badass and I want to get stuck in.
I just always think it's prudent to wait a tiny bit.
My TP1 set up is solid is all, doubt any punters will notice when I have coloured wave forms... though they might notice an 80% increase in airhorn blasts once i got that sample banks on the go ;)
Don't forget the cowbells people.

some shops over here in singapore already have the physical stocks of S4!
wont be long till the download is ready i guess, if the physical copies are ready then i cant see why we cant download yet
Cant wait for T2 :-)
I saw a physical copy for sale on craigslist here last night.
if only someone can buy the physical copies, dont touch the serial, upload the installation files......... and maybe get a refund later (aniway serial unused and untouched?)
hahaha
but then again we need to wait for the email for our e-voucher (for S4 users) to get our serial
dammn
Do we know how soon s4 users will get their voucher yet? any guesses at least? Not like the Tp2 software is much different from the Ks4 software, but if they fixed the buggy fx and some of the other bugs it's def worth the upgrade.
Most shops have got physical stock. Its just ones that break the embargo on sales date that are selling it.
Grrrrr...!!!
Vouchers are meant to go out in time for everyone to use them on the 1st.
As for buggyness, i can totally understand peoples hesitancy. No-one wants to be victim to a unforeseen bug.
All id say is that i no longer have TSP1 or S4 on my gig laptop.
Ive been using TSP2 on it own for months and i havent had one stability issue.
I think the good reassuring thing is that TSP2 isnt a whole re-write, its basically S4 and the TruWaveform cobbled into TSP1 with a few more features to make it TSP2. Its nothing like the change that was T3 to TPRO1.
Ean said in his vid that you can route all 4 decks through a audio 2 but the text to the vid says only on the new soundcards, any idea whats true?
hoping to run 2 sample decks in addition to the regual 2 decks :)
Does anybody know something about the minimum requirements? I'm pretty sure my laptop is up for it, but I haven't come across any min. req.. I would like to know if it's a lot heavier than TPro or just a little bit.
By the way, I'm most excited about the sample decks. This adds so much functionality, especially since I went from 4 decks to 2 decks.
4 decks for me didn't add much to my dj style, but 2 decks plus sample decks feels right up my ally with the way I dj. (loop based techno and such).
Hmm what will happen to the S4 software when the T2 comes out? i believe it will no longer continue being updated, 1.01 being the last ever update before they merge into Traktor Pro 2?
They are on NI's site since the day it got announced.
Windows® XP (latest Service Pack, 32 Bit), Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 (latest Service Pack, 32/64 Bit),
Intel® Pentium 4® 2.4 GHz or Intel® Core™ Duo or AMD Athlon™ 64, 2 GB RAM
Mac OS® X 10.5 or 10.6 (latest update), Intel® Core™ Duo, 2 GB RAM
500 MB free disk space required (minimum), DVD drive
The free TP2 update kinda answers your question... :)
Thats cool that we'll have a chance to download ASAP. I personally was talking about the reverb freeze FX(both regular and T3) and turntable FX (that one has been buggy eversince TPRO1). There were some changes to the filter as well (from Tpro to KS4pro), but I think only I can be the judge of wether or not that has been changed back for the better. I know some other people have commented on other FX not sounding as good or acting buggy (again comparing TPro1 vs KS4), but these are the only ones I can think of. Do you know if these have been addressed yet?
You gotta love the vagueness of the minimum specs :)
I'm not looking forward to 3 days of waiting to use it after the upgrade, while it recalculates the waveforms. Or having to use a proxy to ensure I pay the cheapest price ($79 or €69? lol)
Otherwise I'm quite looking forward to it
My only gripe, but it's unavoidable. I feel sorry for Karlos, a little known fact is that it was his job to colour in the S4's white waveforms for every track that's ever been made with a pack of coloured pencils. So if you have a problem with the new waveforms, it's totally his fault :p
I have an extra copy of T2. Picked it up on Friday. And they have already updated software to 2.0.1 Pm me for details.
The fuck?
what the?
and speaking of counting down to the hours until release date...what is typical practice for NI on release dates? midnight on Thursday kinda thing or what? lol yes I am that anxious
As soon as NI receive the original product as 'faulty' they will deregister that serial number. You will never be able to update or receive any support on that copy as it legally does not belong to you.
Also, if the shop resell that box the buyer will not be able to register it and will either seek comp from the shop or NI who will then look to see who it is still registered to and they will find that you have 2 copies registered when you should only have one. NI can, if they wish deregister your account for breaking the terms of your EULA and they stipulate this in the agreement.
You are supposed to use the serial from the replacement copy and not keep the original serial.
Im jus sayin', not judging. I mean, you, I and everyone else know its wrong. its up to you if you want to do it.;)
Good to know! Thanks.for the heads up! I will def be keeping it then. Not trying to get I'm any trouble either.
Urgh, this is almost as bad as someone getting a copy of the new Harry Potter book early!
