To start playing at parties... I'll start off with high school parties and local pubs. I already got my basic mixing in, effects are the one part I have not messed around with alot. I just don't know when I will be ready enough.

when you feel it? Don't get stressed too much, and make mistakes so people will know you are actually doing something hehe
On December 3rd at 11:49 am you will be ready.
Didn't you just start a thread about a DJ name?
It would leave me to believe that you are just beginning, which is fine. Everybody starts somewhere. I think you need to read a lot more and watch some good beginner Youtube clips.
This forum is extremely helpful, but with any DJ related site, asking for a DJ name, good opening songs, what equipment to buy and a date you will be ready sounds like something that would be asked of a child. (see your name) Read, and then when you are done reading, read some more. Until your eyes hurt.
Everybody's opinion is different. We are an international site afterall. Be what YOU want to be, not what WE suggest you be.
high school parties: my friend with an hour of showing what good song selection is could do this with no mixing skills at all and "rock" the crowd...they dont give a shit about your mixing just your song selection
local pubs: when you can mix semi semlessly any top 40 music
postin in a troll thread
If he can't do the basics right i'm sure he'll ruin a track by using the beatmasher! It's so easy to be generic with the effect but SOO difficult to do anything original with it and still make it sound good (my personal opinion anyway).
Practice for about 4 years then you might be ready...
how long ago did you start mixing?
Your physical age might be set in stone, but the one that others judge you by in the way you conduct yourself is always changing.
Ok. so I am going out on a whim here & question whether you mr KidZg0t5waGG are actually trolling.

Makes me look forward to my holidays :), how does an 18year old legally become 21?? I know that for myself I kind of had to live for those 3 years.... But the perks of being Irish means you can drink at the age of 18 and get into clubs and drink younger once you have a permission note from mammy :)
21 is over-rated... The last few years, my liver and sobriety will attest to that!
Your ready when your confident.
Alright, I'm pretty sure I'm ready. The next few weeks I'll be dealing with creating everything I'll use to market and promote myself since I'm also into graphic design. I'll also be on the hunt for a new car. So once I'm done with that and with a little more practice I'll start looking for places to play which won't be hard since I know a lot of people and I've attended almost every high school, club, festival party this town has had. I'll try to record my first gig.
If you plan on playing at a high school party, no one is going to give a sh!t if you can mix or not.
Throw your own parties first.
Another option is to start broadcasting radio/video from home.
See if you can get people into it that way, alongside those other things. Just prep a set for like once a week, do a video shoot of it streaming live, and record it so people can listen/watch it later.
One of my favorite parts about the internet. Finding nice sets to watch and listen to streaming online.
I think if you balance your enthusiasm and eagerness with a humble attitude then you were born ready.
put a mix in the mixes section as I am keen to hear your style.
nobody can tell you that ur ready unless YOU tell yourself you r. just go with ur gut and go for it homie!
