Has anyone gotten a response yet?
I'm starting to wonder if I need to contact them and make sure my email has been received.
Is this the first time you applied for a job? Employers rarely respond unless they're interested in hiring you. Contacting them again to make sure your email was received comes across as desperate, so don't ever do that. However, you can always follow up to see if the position has been filled yet.
Not desperate at all ;)
I was selling myself short to get in on a company I love, just curious because I offered a flexgrid .tsi, which is something I doubt anyone else had and everyone wants.
The automated response said they would respond as soon as possible, but some of my patents are time sensitive so I'm going to have to start applying at larger companies soon...
I suppose I could wait untill monday, but then I'm moving on with my plans and designs.
I don't know if i'd hold my breath. I've had my emails to them go unanswered too.
I got a response last monday, sadly not the one I was waiting for.
I'm aware that they need time to involve lawyers in cases with patentable ideas, but this delay seems more like "playing hardball"...
Dude, there were a lot of submissions for different positions and DJTT is a small company. If you are still interested in working with them, be patient.
My friends in the industry are actually advising against my wanting to share ideas here, and I'm starting to see aspects that are real downsides verses a position elsewhere.
I'm still a huge fan, but I do have more lucrative options.
That's great, apply else where then.
But I actually want to work with Ean... It's just a matter of me trying to do what I want versus what other's think is better within the time constraints of a highly competitive industry. Surely you understand what that is like, eh? Surely you have sympathy for feeling forced to perform actions that you do not wish to do...
That probably won't happen. But hey you can keep wishing lol.
I do a lot more than wishing my friend, my application included the outline for a project plan that has the potential to have DJTT directly competing with Akai in 7-10 years, It includes multiple controller designs of new and highly marketable utilities, it includes advertising, product placement, and two potential multimillion dollar pattens.
I'm very serious about my future career.
It's a big wild world mate. Many fish ;)
Lots of rivers, streams, lakes, oceans, and I am more than capable of creating my own swimming pool, I just happen to like this one.
:) *splash splash
Dunno how your cover letter came off but based on your posts on this forum you sound a little delusional and personality wise not a great fit. Ideas are all well and good. I bet ean has a lot of those (he did come up with dicers, midi fighter, etc) they may be looking for something more than an ideas man.
You come across like a know it all. In a growing company that's not the right vibe.
But hey that's just my impression and I'm not hiring.
Good luck
I don't want to be disrespectful, but I highly doubt that. How do you want to survive in the wild ocean known as "the business life" if you don't even know how to follow up on your application at a small company like DJ Tech Tools????
Business life isn't about who has the best ideas, it's about knowing how to make money off of them. This is where most people fail. Marketing (including self marketing) is the most crucial aspect to (financial) success.
Insecurity about how to act appropriately is something that will stand in your way big time.
And this thread definetely shows you have no idea what appropriate behaviour in business life is...
I present exhibit 1:
This is usually nothing you want to include in a job application. It seems way more appropriate for a business proposal you would present to an investor. How did you expect them to react to that application? Who tells you directly competing with Akai is anything that DJTT is aspiring to do AT ALL?
If you want that job: follow up on your application, either by email of even better by just calling. Following up on your application does not make you seem desperate!
This, I don't know where people got the idea that it makes you seem desperate to follow up. Calling every day starting the day you turn it might seem desperate, but calling a week or two later is common practice.
This is in no way the same thing as calling someone after you get their number after a night out.
I am very appreciative of the constructive criticism guys! :)
In the "jobs" post Ean directly asked if someone could attempt to run the company, so I responded with a project proposal.
I'm sorry f the haters got to me a little, I'm actually quite humble in person :)
I am trying to show that I am one of the most serious contenders, and I am absolutely the most passionate
I have a lot of experience running a small business, and experience in web design and marketing.
Stop trying to convince all of us and turn your time and effort to where it really counts. Not on the forums, but in the offices.
Update:
It's going swimmingly :)
DJTT was to slow on the draw... I literally have bigger fish to fry ;)
I mean no offense to DJTT btw. I truly appreciate the informative community here :)
I will be around, just a might bit busier than I have been.
I'm hungry
I fancy a cheeseburger
There's a cheeseburger!
Can I have a cheeseburger?
Pleeeeeease can I have a cheeseburger?
Cheeseburger dude, where's my cheeseburger?
Anyone know when the cheeseburgers are coming?
I mean I am hungry but I don't NEED a cheeseburger.
CHEESEBURGER DUDE, I NEED A F****** cheeseburger!
Can cheeseburger dude even hear me?
Seriously, do you know how many cheeseburger places there are around here?
I mean, my money's good and I have a discerning palette, cheeseburger dude must realize it's in his best interest to hook me up
I just phoned in some orders in to some other places.
They're burgers are waaaayyyyy better and you get free fries.
Did I mention cute girls serve the cheeseburgers at one of these other places?
Nah, I'm staying for a while. I mean they have these awesome cheeseburgers across the road and that one girl totally wants me but...
There's just something about this minuscule, overpriced cheeseburger that I have now totally built up in my mind.
So how long till these cheeseburgers are ready?
Actually, you know what everyone?
It's game over.
I"M HAVING STEAK TONIGHT BITCHES!!!!!!
Me 1, Cheeseburger man 0
Enjoy your little cheeseburgers fools.
Did someone say Cheeseburger? I want a cheeseburger...
Really weird approach by the OP :001_unsure:
I'm sorry??
I just wanted a cheeseburger that I could take home and put my own fixings on to make a little bit bigger burger to share with my friends here... is that wrong? Maybe I like building burgers more than eating steak. :)
and I love you guys, seriously, all the hate kinda hurts...
Just tried to have a cookout with my buddies.
When really you're a secret vegetarian :D
I name you FALAFEL MAN!
Seriously, don't take us too seriously. People here have a weird sense of hummus.
Confidence is great but even more so is humility.
Ok, group hug with our vegan pal.
