We are supposed to get a tracking number from Vestax directly. They were due to ship last Tues and Fri.
Worse still i have to leave this all in the capable hands of a 10 yr old sibling to get the tracking and pay customs for me as in 6 hours i'm off to Exit Fest to dance in a field and travelling for next 3 weeks.

I guess a bunch of us have gigs on the 12th and I haven't heard anything either. If Chris Hanson from Dateline shows up asking questions, we may have a problem (just kidding). But really, no tracking info from Japan/Vestax so far. Ean...help!

He said, for those who have been waiting for months, the shipping is free. There is no procedure, other than what has already been mentioned in the forums, with the customs procedures. Basically what hes explaining is, its been a while and now im making it up with express shipping.

im in tokyo actuelly, and i was call "vestax corp" yesturday to ask about vci 100 SE, ansd the guy tell me : just minut, im gonna tchek my stok to see how much rest", i said WHATTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!, the rythme of my heart was just beatin at 1000 bpm....... a minuts of reanimation and bammmmmmmm he just help me to go down and say: sorry we finish the stock....., :(
mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn i know that, we are just thousand guys ready to kill for have it,....and cant give me any news about it ..... broken my dream......

No. I feel this situation and behavior is totally, totally unacceptable. If I would treat my customers like this I would be out of business in no time. I understand that there can be certain delays in product developments (dealing with suppliers in Asia myself) but this situation is something. :mad:
It's appreciated if someone from Vestax could provide RELIABLE information.
Just to make it clear: I do understand that Ean probably had to take a lot of heat because of this - I know that it is not his fault.

i just call vestax japan today (cause im there) before go visit them and the guy tell me he can do anything about vci-100 special edition cause vestax japan are "not reponsable" about it...................................,so i was REALLY surprise about this answer
????????????? so i say them i dont understand cause they make it there, and suppose to have somes in the factory or something like this, but he tell me already they didnt dispose any machine, cause (again) there are not responsable about vci_100 ES, and tell me they suppose to send at you ean all they have for after sendin for the shipping..............

I have to agree with yosemite. We have been waiting for a long time to receive these units. We haven't heard anything but bad news, and I will even stretch to say lack there of. Frankly if it was not for this website, I would have pulled my order a long time ago. I think what were demanding now is appropriate behavior from the very professionals who are supposed to be representing it.
Hang on guys. We got word that they went out 3-day air last Friday (batch 2 pt. 1) and the rest Wednesday (batch 2 pt. 2) and DJ Kero in Norway got his. Before the anger spreads to all 48 of us, I'd give it a few more days. I think Ean deserves a pass because he's @ the mercy of the Japan, Vestax shipping department. He can only tell us what they tell him. Yes, I'm mildly fustrated too but it's like a restaurant. If the food is as good as legend has it, I can forgive the delays when it finally hits the table. I'll wait these extra days instead of them using scotch tape to hurry up and secure all the knobs. Now if no word or unit appears in a week or so, my mood is more than likely to change too but if these things are really in the air or on the delivery truck, let's not blow up the spot if the product is truly on the way. iPhones, Nintendo Wii's, etc. This happens all the time (except we paid up front) but @ the end of the day, we will soon have a toy that only 99 other people IN THE WORLD will have. Hang on guys, hang on! I gamble to say it will be worth it!

Just my thoughts. I understand everyone's fustration AND Ean's desire not unkmowingly distribute misinformation. Vestax is giving him Colin Powell-idus.
guys I was in the first batch of vci's, people receiving them in the uk had delays after the units had been posted, this was down to the customs system in our country and the local courier company (parcelforce) taking their time to notify us they had the unit waiting in their depot for payment of the customs/tax (they sent notification via snail mail) a quick phonecall to the courier speeded it up for us before even receiving notification.
To everyone that has waited, and quite understandably shown frustration.
I have done everything in my power to make this happen as quickly as possible. We even came out of pocket $2500 + $1000 service fee to send them 3 day air from tokyo. As Fatlimey told me the other day, its a miracle I even got this done at all- so while I have been pushing hard, we cant push so hard that the whole deal falls through. Then no one is happy.
Thank you for your patience and support of Dj TT. After all the fees and this fiasco, we really made very little money on the 100. That little cash we did make is being spent on upgrading and streamlining the site so it runs faster and is easier to navigate for everyone.
in the coming months, you will start to see a few more products show up in our store. This first one was a very special one and a big learning experience, thank you for your patience with us will we learn the ropes as this is new territory for all of us.

efferalban, let me clarify, vestax does not have these units any more. They were sent to our partner company that takes the responsibility of Dj TT's shipping in Japan.
I understand how you might have been confused but I did not mean: "go to vestax to pick up your unit".
I said- "private message me"- Then I was going to give you the information for our company in Tokyo and you can pick it up there. That could have been more clear.
I am very sorry for the confusion but Vestax cant really do anything about it- they already gave them to our partner in Tokyo and they have already shipped them out. Therefore I am sure the poor front desk guy at vestax was just as confused and frustrated as you are.
Confession: I visited Ean the other weekend to help out with a spot of programming, and the back story behind the VCI100-SE is quite amazing. It's been a big learning experience on all sides about DJ culture, international business etiquette, cultural expectations and different understandings of the word "contract". Having worked for years at Sony Computer Entertainment I understand some of the issues of working with Japanese electronic engineering companies and Ean has done a solid job with the resources he has. By all normal measures the VCI100-SE should never have happened and it's entirely down to Ean's character and personal resolve that his idea got pushed through to a real product in your hands.
Vestax also need big Kudos for shouldering the risk and actually tooling up for a short-run product with all that entails in costs and support. As a community, I think the SE users should get together and find a way to give the top names at Vestax a big thank you. Not only would that be a good thing to do for the cause of Controllerism, but it would also grease the wheels for Ean if he should ever want to go back to them with future ideas, and that can only benefit us all. I'd suggest a collage of photo of each of us with our SE would be an excellent thing to send to them. What say you?

It's not like this was some sort of CraigsList or eBay auction scam where we don't have any clue who we sent money to.
Just relax everyone...before you know it you will have a shiny new VCI-100se...then you will look back at your posts and say "man...I was SUCH a dick!"
If it's a money issue...listen...if you were that hard up for the money, then why buy this in the first place?

Alright, I respect everyones opinions, basically I was expressing my frustration. I know the speciality of this product, I never complain about anything else but the delayed problems with Vestax. If you read my post you will understand who I was referring to. Ean has been helpful with the updates he has given us. The Vestax forums were FINALLY cleaned up from SPAM after months of neglect and we can now express our concerns directly. Before that we only had this forum to express our concerns. I think some of the members in this forum jump the gun on some of the assumptions made by them, but again I ask you read my post before thinking anything further than what I said.
I remember selling my few Apple stocks, to purchase this item. I remember waking up in the morning just to be the first people to buy this item. I have been waiting for months and even when Ean was nice enough to give us our money back, I said no. We all know this site and its products will be special. This product has taken everyone who bought it, thru a journey that no other product has before. Im happy im allow in this community and I want to be part of it, in every single way.

I lsao saw an video on youtube about some guy had problem with an loose jog wheel on an black vci, just unscrew the jog wheel and lift the controller and srew the screws so its not loose anymore, happend with my silver one.
I'm with Fatlimey. Despite the delays this is a special project; and let the posts on the forum tell it, a solid product the no one seems to regret purchasing. If there's a way to thank Vestax and show Ean as the leader he is for getting this done, I'm in! Just tell me what to do.
It's not a simple task to find TRUE DJ-friendly product that takes the place of the old faithful turntables and mixer. Sure there are DOZENS of products out there but we all know the ratio of good to bad and there are so many styles and demands of DJ's, it's hard to satisfy everyone. My point being that for Ean to develop a product that nearly 100 DJ's INSTANTLY jumped up and bought with out ever touching or seeing it is a big deal in many ways. One of the more important ways for us that it's a big deal is A DJ getting the opportunity to fine tune a DJ product. The tech guys can give a good start, but we've all seen those products where we touch it and say "who's bright idea was this?!" We need votes that count when it comes to these products and with the SE's, I think we've made a loud, clear statement as to the power of products that we can actually use with pride and productivity. Let's followup that statement and let Vestax know how this is another positive step in the right direction of product development and demand.
