$399 for maschine? Damn good deal. I think I paid $430 for the edu which I just can't sell- which isn't such a bad thing. Sucks for anyone who just bought a maschine. wonder how much padi paid... http://smiliesftw.com/x/hsugh.gif
ahh man....Paid a total of 740$ for my maschine in January
still worth it though ha
Yeah- just sucks for anyone who was thinking of selling maschine though. Getting maschine secondhand now will be a pretty decent deal.
Got Maschine last week, oh well...
The best bet for the peeps selling second hand is to wait till the promo ends.
On their FB page they say that it ends on August 31st (at least the S4)
Hmmm does this mean new s4 and maschine hardware?
On their homepage it is still listed with the regular price...
Only the S4's price is reduced on the homepage.
The homepages of the retailers that feature the reduced price don't say anything wether it's a promotion or not. It is the right time for their usual summer promotion, so it does not necessarily mean new hardware.
as someone who works for an authorized dealer i can confirm all 3 price drops.
Maschine- 399.99
Maschine Mikro - 299.99
S4 - 799.99
Maschine Mikro is £199 here:

seems like a better alternative to a Midifighter, value for money-wise anyway.
I saw maschine on Ebay from Pro audio star brand new for $399 yesterday, free shipping too. I think they have been doing that for awhile.

Firesale cause it doesnt work with USB 3.0? ....runs to the hills!!!!
Any information about Europe? I can only see the S4, which is 799€
my coment was in regards to the known issue with the S4
i just bought maschine last weekend too but at least i got guitar center to match a pro audio star deal and give me a pair of rokit 5 monitors for free so i'm still up $100. i think i'm going to go in this weekend and see if they will give me the new maschine price since they price match for 30 days after your purchase anyhow.
they would surely do it if pro audio star makes a new bundle to reflect the reduced price. i emailed them to see if they are going to drop their bundle prices since they currently have 2 packages where you would lose $150 if you purchased them.
Hey squidot , just wondering, but I've always ended up buying with proaudiostar because even though Guitar Center price matches any price (+ an additional lower 10% of the difference), GC will still add tax here in California. Is that not applicable in all states? They told me that they used to match online prices out the door, but as of last year (not sure on the timing actually) they have to add on tax no matter what. So GC price will always be the price matched price + tax..
Sounds about right, from my experience guitar center always adds sales tax and doesn't take that into account during pricematching. Which makes shopping there totally pointless unless you need it that day. And even so when places like proaudiostar will give you better deals than what they list on the site by phone/email it makes price matching mean even less.
Exactly. Ebay's "make offer" option is always nice as well and works pretty well sometimes. Today PAS offered me a price even lower than what my lowest offer on ebay was, before I even told them the actual ebay offer value. For the most part, I really thing they're blowing the competition out of the water in the United States (in terms of NEW or B-stock items only obviously).
Both are summer promos, got the announcement at work a few weeks ago, have since started to put away funds for a Maschine :)
yes, they will add tax, but the 10% of the difference will help a little. for me it depends on what gear it is and how much i want to play with it now. i know the chances of getting a lemon are low, but it does happen and it has happened to me, so the good thing about buying from them is the ability to return immediately. for instance i bought an apc40 from them a while back with price matching, took it home, and one of the faders was bent way out place. if i had ordered online, i would have waited 5+ days for shipping to me (generally if coming from ny), then i would have to send it back and wait for a return. i just wouldn't want to be without my new gear for 2-3 weeks and will generally just pay a little extra (tax) for that reason.
well, i've gotta give a +1 to guitar center on this one. i went in today and asked about their 30 day price matching since native instruments lowered the price on the maschine. no problem. they gave me $200+ refund with no questions asked, even though i got the rokit 5's free as a bundle. that's awesome!
they will also match deals from semi-shady websites that are crazy low. once i got them to match $175 audio technicas for $75! i bought 2 for the price of 1. same with a trigger finger i got for half off a long time ago. if you know what you are looking for and can find a shady online deal like that, always go to gc and i bet they will match it.
Confirmed, Maschine offers end on August 31st as well, it's not a permanent price drop.
the Maschine Mikro will be mine... oh yes... it will be mine.
Guitar Center has to add tax because you will always pay tax in your state and "tax" isn't considered part of the match price. They have always been pretty good when matching prices and discounts. I bought my Numark NDX-800 from Guitar Center. At the time the NDX-800 had only been out a little while, they had 1 left and it was an open box return. The person had it for a day and returned it to get a Pioneer CDJ. They gave me the open box discount plus whatever sale was going on at the time so I ended up paying $297 when it was prices at $399 and they said I could bring it back and get a brand new unopended 1 if I wanted.
NI feeling threatened by the VCI 400? With good reason to. Gives me a major headache on what one I want to buy now though and no, I'm not starting another VCI or S4 debate. No, Siree Bob.
I think well definitely see new hardware. In the 3 years maschine has been around I don't believe they've ever had on it sale. Don't quote me on this.
i quite like guitar center and they've always treated me very well with price matching and customer service, plus i've met several cool djs and producers that work there. so, i feel it's worth it to pay the tax for the perks i have gotten from them. i've had several deals from them that were lower than any online retailers even with tax. for instance they currently sell the krk rokit 10 sub for $370 new, right now there is a 15% sale going on which puts it around $340 with tax. the lowest i have seen that go for is $350 online. so they are great if you know what to look for.
they sometimes get a bad rap from people who say they are clueless and don't know anything about any products but i think they know enough. i suppose that highly depends on the stores and individuals as well, but all of them here seem to know their stuff well enough. i mean it would be nearly impossible for someone in the pro audio section to know about every single hardware and software in detail. the manual for maschine is well over 300 pages. i guess i'm just the type of person to research stuff myself in advance so i never really need to ask them any questions when i'm there.
Broke down and took the plunge.
Maschine Mikro on its way
I just got home from Guitar Center with the Maschine. Had a 15% off coupon so out the door it was like $369 after tax. The salesperson told me that they (GC) buy it at wholesale cost at $365, so as an employee he would pay that + tax... so I got a wicked good deal. Installing the software right now...
