About to upgrade to OSX Mountain Lion but wanted to check to see if anyone was a bit more daring than me and has already completed their upgrade?
If I do not hear back I will post results of Mountain Lion + Traktor 2.5.1.

I'm downloading now... will post results
Will be very interested to hear your feedback.
Traktor seems to work just fine, will stress it out more once I get my S2!
Is today the 25th already!? hope it doesn't take 4 hours like Lion did last summer :glare:
There is some kind of beta driver out now from NI:
Dear Native Instruments user,
This newsletter provides important information about the compatibility of Native Instruments hardware products with MacOS 10.8, as well as with the current-generation MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models equipped with USB 3.0 ports.
Due to USB audio driver issues present in recent versions of OSX, some NI products will experience a degraded audio signal when used with OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" on any Apple hardware. The same issue occurs with the current-generation MacBooks under 10.7 using USB 3.0. Specifically, the following NI products are affected:
AUDIO 2 DJ / AUDIO 4 DJ / AUDIO 8 DJ
AUDIO KONTROL 1
GUITAR RIG MOBILE
GUITAR RIG SESSION
KORE 1
RIG KONTROL 2 / RIG KONTROL 3
TRAKTOR AUDIO 2
TRAKTOR KONTROL S4
Native Instruments has provided beta drivers* for these hardware devices to make them fully compatible with the newest Apple technologies. If you own one of the affected devices and run the latest MacOS version 10.8, or have a MacBook with USB 3.0, you can download and install the beta drivers from our unprotected drivers and updates page....
Best regards,
The Native Instruments team
20 bucks? ehhhhhh:glare:
Don't wanna do it.
Plus don't forget the 20$ allows you to intall on up to 5 macs which is a really good deal if you own multiple machines!
To be honest I'm not really excited about any of the new features.. the only one I can think of is the talk to type, which will probably work like crap
I decided to test this feature for this reply. This entire reply was written using the dictation feature of 10.8.
//end dictation
PS: works perfectly!
Well they are supposed to be your own machines but you can burn the downloaded img file to a usb flash card or dvd for installation http://lifehacker.com/5928780/how-to...sb-flash-drive

dammnnnnnn!!
Yeah its quite impressive! The spelling mistake was actually something I typed so ignore that!
I've installed it on my iMac and it runs Traktor 2.5.1 and Maschine like a dream I think that Maschine is running better on Mauntain lion. I backed up everything last week just to be ready but it just installed over and everything was still innstalled and ready to go after the upgrade. Those new futures most of them I'll probable never use and I whis I can find a way to disable that notification thing when I'll install on my DJ macbook because I hate haveing stuff I never use on a computer.
Its pretty early to say this but I am noticing much more 'peppiness' or 'snappiness' if you will in everything I have thrown at it. Traktor, iTunes, Chrome, etc, etc. Still testing - should have some more info later today but so far its been great!
Yep. At least I have not seen anything to the contrary of this from last year: http://osxdaily.com/2011/06/07/singl...s-on-all-macs/
EDIT: you can install it on ALL your macs. I was mixing up the itunes content authorization which only allows you to play itunes content on up to 5 machines.
Enjoying the free safari update. Noticed some new features and it's much quicker.
Here is a really great review of everything new in 10.8: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2012/07/os-x-10-8/
Anyone here have a DJM 900 or DJM T1 care to test it with Traktor? Pioneer took forever to sort out a driver issue for Lion (2-3 months). That's a 1/4 of a life cycle for OS X. The 900 had crackling audio and timecode was very dodgy.
Can those of you that have already done the switch say what Mac computers and what interfaces for Traktor you've tried. Since they're having issues with certain ones it would be nice to know what exact setup those of you that are having good results are using.
Personally, I'm on a late-2008 non-unibody MacBook Pro, using an Audio 8 (which NI says is still having some issues), but installing an SSD today to snap it up. Thinking about Mountain Lion, which Apple says works fine with my comp, but I had some issues with Traktor and Lion so I've stuck with Snow Leopard through that entire OSX upgrade.
I have to say I'm always a little surprised that companies like NI and Serato are behind on support for new OS's. They release the developer preview with enough notice that you figure most bugs would be ironed out. I'm obviously speaking with limited knowledge of programming so maybe it's a longer development cycle.
Still downloading as we speak. I might have problems having the new OSX, USB 3.0, and a TTM-57SL that runs on USB 1.1. Sure hope not.
It's an issue of backwards compatibility. While Microsoft, etc are very concerned with backwards compatibility, Apple is just not.
Also, the betas/previews, except for perhaps the very last one are not identical, bit-for-bit, to the release.
In addition, the hardware devices like the cards that NI and Serato make are generally harder to patch (they might require a firmware or actual hardware fix) as opposed to software, which can be very quick to update.
Mountain Lion makes a huge difference on the rMBP. I haven't seen any scroll lag like I did on Lion, and more things seem to be in full resolution.
Here's something fun for you all!! Turn on airplay mirroring to a big screen TV with a Apple TV and DJ from your couch :)
Screen shot of it in action here: http://twitpic.com/abrfab
Installed in a diff partition I used to test prev betas and was using to bootcamp. Won't replace my main install until I'm certain everything critical is 101% functional.
Liking general usage so far, boot time improved a lot for me (comparing with a Lion clean install).Only thing left to test is my soundcard that I won't have with me till friday, It worked fine in previous builds except for the software routing panel.
Why did they remove the option to show the battery timer on the menubar is beyond me (i know you can use istat or whatever to recover it).
So far pretty good. Tried it with my s2, x1 and it worked fine for traktor 2.5.1. Going to try my DJM 900 and turntables to see if that works.
So tempted...August is heaving though and daren't take the chance.
