don't get too overexited they seam to have some summer sale each summer
Yeah, let's not replicate the same thread that seems to occur every time NI have. a same.
ok, may i request the lock then? :)
maybe there bringing out traktor control stand mk2 :w00t:
I feel bad for all the people trying to sell off their used Z2's on the forums now
Yea for sure. That's a huge loss.
NI always does summer sales of something, it's pretty classic.
Price drop reflected in the DJTT store: https://store.djtechtools.com/products/ni-kontrol-z2
Just to get more people into the fold before the paid upgrade of Traktor Pro 3
It does seem like really bizarre timing considering that this mixer isn't even that old. The timing for everything is very strange, Maschine kits selling cheap, the expansion pack sale, now the Z2 sale, something is definitely up.

Surely they are going to release a Kontrol S4 MK2 soon.
Remember back in Oct 2011 when the S2 came out it was $600 then NI marked it down to $400 in Feb 2012 for a couple of months. NI then raised the price back up to $500 and that is where it has been since. Seems to me they drop the price on new gear after it has been out for a few months. I waited on the S2 and got one for $400 and I am glad I waited on the Z2. I just ordered one and it should be here this week. I cannot wait to break out my X1 and start using the Z2 and X1 together, may have to add a turntable soon as well. :)
My GOD I'm tempted to get a Z2 now...
...But I'm also tempted to get a DJM850.
Me too...
I'm torn between a Z2, DJM850, DJM900 and a DB2. DB2 is pretty sexy for the price and I want a nice new mixer as the DJM250 was only ever a stop gap. But i sort of fancy a controller i can use as a vinyl mixer too so the new pioneer R1 is looking a little tempting...
This new price drop on the Z2 is defo a spanner in the works
RGAS argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's pretty much why I never buy new or market price. If I buy used, I can always recover a good chunk of my money unless I'm keeping it for several generations.
That said, as several people have said, NI has been known to do summer sales. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much for a new controller.
Hmmm... Can the Zomo do anything that the Z2 can't? I mean, the Z2 has all of the browser/FX/loop controls that the Zomo does, right?Quote:

That is a KILLER set-up.
Nope, the Z2 only has a single FX knob/button and a Dry/Wet knob per side. Adding the Zomo will give you a nice big CUP button, a couple more encoders, and between it and the Z2 will give you all 8 cuepoints (if you use the Sync button on the Zomo as a cuepoint).
If the Z2 was a little wider (Z4, maybe?), then it'd literally be the PERFECT combination. As it stands, it'd still be pretty epic though.
I got that email too...prob going to snag it now for sure
I`d consider trying Traktor again if a Z4 mixer came out. Not sure how long I can wait for serato to merge SSL & SDJ for turntable/controller integration.
Z2 or not Z2, that is the question...
There's no denying - pretty much ANY mixer (2 or 4 channels) is VASTLY improved (and VASTLY is an under-statement!) by adding a Zomo MC-1000 to it...Quote:

I can't believe they are selling at that price...with a guitar center code can I get another 15% off? I mean I wasn't really in the market but that is just absurd...$510 for something with that much utility...might have to pull out of the savings for it.
I can justify taking a hit and selling my S4 for like $400 or $450 with the price that low.
I say go BIG or RGAS is just gonna rear its ugly head again.
I drooled over the DB4 for 3 months straight before purchasing it. I figured (or tricked myself into thinking) that if I bought something other then the DB4 I'd be taking a loss every time I sell the mixer I purchased to sooth the RGAS. Then eventually end up with the DB4 in the end.
I haven't had a hint of RGAS since then... at least not for a mixer anyways...
Edit: On-topic - I think NI is gonna drop some type of new kit, question is what though.
needs moar channels. still not buying one. :p
I'd love to see a 4 ch NI mixer. How do you think they'd do it? 4 track decks? 2 track decks and2 remix decks? 4 fully switchable channels? How many cue/hot cue buttons?
I don't think 2+2 is their next move (that is what the z2 is after all). I wouldn't be surprised if they updated the X1 with color leds (useful to indicate cue type). It's not that it NEEDS it, just a cool and relatively simple addition.
Regarding a Z4 or whatever it's called, 4 fully switchable decks takes my vote.
PS: would love to see NI switch to nutted knobs.
If I was in the market, I'd call ZZsounds, get them to price match and put it on the payment plan.
Lots of people are very happy with their Z2 and as such would not consider it a bad purchase. Not everyone needs a 4 (or even a 2+2) channel mixer.
When you buy any new product you know that at some point the price will come down. Perhaps not this soon. You have a choice to buy it when it comes out or wait in the knowledge that at some point it will be cheaper.
This is not some unique NI business model.
There's a used one on EBay for $500 with 31 bids. LOL
If I thought like that I'd go get this :)

I hear what you're saying though... Honestly I'd take a db2 over a db4 anyway... I prefer the simplicity.
Soz got OT
NI gonna bring out an update to S4. I'd love hid platter separates personally
