Knew they were going to bring out a Traktor DJ controller, but I didn't expect this.
Didn't expect it either. NI clearly understand the need for modular controllers :)
Oh my god... PLEASE tell me this works with normal Traktor and not just iOS?
EDIT: Just watched the video. FUCK YES.
But couldn't make a 4 channel controller???? I would get this in a heartbeat to replace my A&H K2 it was. sigh...
want 4 channels?
buy two.
i can see the signature:
MB Pro, Traktor Pro 2.6, Two Kontrol Z1's, an X1 and an F1
good move, who would have thought they would ever listen to their customers... and just in time for behringer to release the MM1
^ haha thats a good point synthe1c
Hmmm, was debating an S4/S2 for a while, but I think this paired with my Maschine might be useful...
...no?
I made a post on here a while ago suggesting something similar to this, good job NI, about time!
Charging the iPad in use; dammit I'm getting one
The plastic gloss faceplate is a bit of a disappointment.
This is what I wanted when the X1 first came out. Then I got DVS.
But for the beat gridded, sample using, effects driven DJ, it's just brilliant. Big up to NI.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'm surprised I'm the first to point out the lack of innofaders....
well it does look really nice, but the only place i can see this being used is when you play somewhere where they don't have a mixer installes. not really needed since i can already just bring my x1s (and soundcard if they don't have a pio-mixer at the venue, wich is what there is most of the time) and be good to go.
or am i missing something really important here?
also, not enough buttons to be remapped as a 2-channel midi controller...
pretty cool. For a while people used to use the faderfox and even the X-session. I could see this as an ultra portable setup with an X1.
Now would like to see modules with just transport controls and larger platters. They are taking it in a smart direction... DJs are working with different workflows these days, where modular setups work best
Game changer.
I assume I'll be forced to sync? That's disappointing, but I get it.
It's just a MIDI mixer with built-in two channel sound card. Use it how you like.
It's a plastic MIDI controller. Clubs won't be picking these up.
You can achieve the same setup with an Audio 2/equivalent when at a club anyway.
Once the Ipad app allows me to use a mixer like a DJM900 for 4 channel control and allows me to run tracks off an external harddrive, then I'd totally make the shift to ipad DJing.
Till then it's CDJs or maybe XDJr1..... So sick of bringing a computer to shows
I think the lack of MIDI transport controllers holds it back more than storage. An updated class compliant X1 would be a nice addition/accompaniment to the Z1.
it's just easier to keep your music all in one spot as opposed to having to worry about a storage limitation. if i have to limit myself to say 16gb or buy some crazy expensive ipad just to bring a decent amount of music it sucks. If I'm limited to 16gb that means I have to go into my library and make playlists for every single gig as opposed to have access to all my master playlists that are super organized already
I was just referring to the whole "it will be in every club comment" I agree it's not aimed for clubs,
this changes everything.... its a must have! this paired with an x1 and a midi fighter, is an unstoppable combo. i must say this REALLY puts the hurt on the midifighter mixer djtechtools was planing.....
also this is pretty valuable tool for on the go producers, who just want a small 24/96 sound card that doubles as a mixer.. Genius move NI
It's for iPad users, and computer users who want to use it modular style with an X1 or F1 though. Although from a purely iPad perspective, for me it would've been perfect with the four cue buttons from the Z2 to use as transport/cues. - these are still functions I'd rather use as physical buttons.
I don't use software of any kind, so excuse my lack of insight. This is basically just a mixer, correct?
$199? Take my money!!!
eh, i don't see it as that much of a game changer, but i might be wrong
Boo internal mixing. Got me excited for a sec.
Nowwwww... Iffff.... NI somehow updates traktor to run two of these with 4 decks...now we have something!
its great for the ipad dj... and people who have gridded tracks and a x1 , f1...
doesnt do alot for the people with a proper mixer...
reminds me of djtechs controller...
