What mixer do I buy?
I'm getting into the real deal vinyl from a Numark Ns7, and I'm confused as to what mixer to buy. I read great reviews on all of them, but then I read terrible reviews on all of them. Obviously, I don't want to spend a ton of money. Maybe somebody could point me in the right direction? I'll be using Scratch Live software.

Best bang for the buck IMHO is the xone 32, as long as you don't need the 4th channel, and since you are mixing vinyl I would think you don't need it. In my area they are usually listed for $350 and can be snatched up for $300. I really love mine, sounds so much nicer then my old DJM 600 and I made $300 profit by selling the DJM and buying the Xone 32. I am biased tho as that is my piece of kit. Maybe someone can offer a more objective opinion. The 32 doesn't have any on board effects other than a filter, but traktor fills that void for me.

2 channel vs. 4 channel and what's your budget exactly?
Are you still planning on using Traktor for either effects, remix decks or decks 3 & 4?

Karol's, go to bed. The mind needs rest. Btw this statement is entirely based in your reply in another thread.

What type of music will you be playing and do you see yourself doing much scratching?
Also as others have said need to know if you want effects on the mixer and how many channels you need.

Personally I prefer Pio mixers. If it's just you and your decks, you might as well for the DJM -250.
I also hear great things about the Behringer DDM 4000, I played around with one once and from my brief encounter it was fantastic piece of gear considering the price. They're cheap and from what I recall it can do pretty much everything that an 850 can apart from being Traktor Certified. I know a lot of people on this forum rate them also.

Behringer DDM 4000 is a great mixer, not expensive looking but it does the job especially as its 4 channels and sells cheap

I used to run my DVS set up through my DJM 850 which was great but I decided a few months back to split DVS from the CDJ set up and picked up a DJM 400 second hand. I am running this through the audio 6 I already had. I actually really like the 400 and it has some nice effects on there to play with and the faders all seem pretty good. If the cross fader goes west I can pop an innofader in there.
I looked at the Xone 22 which I nearly went for (probably would seriously look at the Xone 23 now) and the DJ Tech DIF 1S (again probably look at the DIF 1M now) but ended plumping for the s/h DJM 400 as I am a massive Pioneer fan girl who has been brand brain washed and cannot make up her own mind.
Go look at some mixers, have a play, see what you like the feel and the sound of, what you can afford and make a decision from there.

If you aren't totally set on getting a brand new mixer, scan craigslist for a month or so and see if you can spot a deal. I ended up getting my Xone62 in pristine condition for $400.
YMMV

The Pioneer DJM series and the Allen & Heath Xone series are both really nice, durable and of high quality.
Some say, that the Xone equalizers are better for techno/electronic music.
If like to use a filter effect when you play, then you might want to have it on your mixer too (not all DJMs have that).

I have the new Reloop RMX-80. It's really good for the cheap price and imo can compare to the original djm 800. Faders are a big step up for the reloop rmx-40, which was a djm 600 copy
